ELECTION IS OVER LET’S BUILD A COALITION TO RETIRE THIS OLD GROUP OF SIT-TIGHT POLITICIANS IN THE NEXT ELECTION

Comrade Faduri Oluwadare Joseph aka Fadojoe former presidential aspirant under Labour Party has called on Nigerians who are interested in building a new nation to wake up to the reality that it takes a united people determined to rescue their country and ready to give it all it takes to rescue Nigeria from this old generation of sit tight politicians who have destroyed and still destroying the everything that remains. Yet still not ready to surrender power willingly.

Speaking with newsmen online from his base in the United States of America (USA) he expressed how from day one of this election he clearly predicted that it’s “white elephant project that is going anywhere. Here we are today, affirming my earlier submission and predictions made clear a day after the election.

“Since this administration came in to office, the life of an ordinary citizen has been turned apart. More impoverishment, more hardship, more suffering, more agony and deeper crashing.

“A government that started with disrupting the nation with sudden announcement of subsidy removal and up until now, the nation has not remained the same again. I believe in the legitimacy of the President, that no doubt but this government that promised renewed hope has failed Nigeria (as a country) and still fails Nigerians.

The activist again lamented the deteriorating state of the country as, “things are getting worse by the day due to the unfavourable policies of this government that made no plan and no positive implementation. Our nation has been a country of hell, and people can’t even afford one square meal per day.

“Our economy is in a totally shamble. Our naira is on a free fall every day. Insecurity all over the nation, especially in the northern part of Nigeria. Our Educational system is degraded to zero, food is out of reach of ordinary citizens and at worst a government that is insensitive to the cry of the nation where the government is borrowing to loot and to lavish. A government that in the midst of poverty and still borrowing, yet its National Assembly gifting themselves official car each worth N160million after their initial N70 billion dashing themselves money from the nation treasury, even when Nigerian workers still earn less than $50/per month. A government that announced student loans for Youths only to slam them with 400% school fees hike. A government with no plan and policies for children, elderly and people with disabilities.

Proffering solutions, the 2023 Labour Party presidential aspirant said, “we must come together and start building a coalition to bring Nigerian together under one big umbrella and not all these divisions in our political parties and process

“We must put this government on its toes to make policies that can impact Nigerian positively. People are suffering, people are hurting, people are hopeless, people are dejected, people are dying every day in our nation due to poverty, hunger, insecurity and others.

“We do not have any other nation to go to, we must come together to fight for this one we have. This government must seek help where it is needed help and not just make it a party affair, but go outside its party to seek help if need be.

“This government must thoroughly think through their policies before unfolding them to Nigerian and before implementing them as well.

“I want our nation to succeed and that success can only happen if we all put hands on deck. I mean both the government (in power) and formidable opposition, to check-make excesses of this government and to start putting our heads together for a formidable alternative ahead of 2027. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he concluded

Senator Shehu Sani Remains True ‘Voice of Masses’ ,says Catholic Church

Senator Shehu Sani Remains True ‘Voice of Masses’ -Catholic Church

…as He Award of Excellence

Catholic Men Organization of Kaduna Archdiocese today presented an award of excellence to former lawmaker and Human Rights activist,Senator Shehu Sani .

According to the Catholic group, the award titled, “Voice  of the Masses ” was in recognition of his invaluable contributions to fight against injustices and resolute disposition about the plights of the masses in the society

Speaking during the presentation ceremony at his Kaduna residence, the Leader of the delegation, Mr. Bature Joel Madaki ,2023 Convention Chairman, Catholic Men Organization of Kaduna Archdiocese said decision to honour the former lawmaker , who represented Kaduna Central Senatorial District in 8th Senate was to encourage him to remain steadfast and do more for the masses.

“On behalf of the Catholic Men Organisation (CMO), Kaduna Catholic Archdiocese we present to you this award of excellence for being the voice of the masses. This is in our own little way of supporting and encouraging you for all you have doing for humanity. We thank you for accepting this award from this family.”he stated.

While noting that Senator Shehu Sani has always represented and spoke for the masses before he was elected as a lawmaker and have continued to do so even out of office,he added ,”This is part of reasons we want him to  know that there are people, who appreciate his constant support for the masses .”

In his reaction shortly after receiving the award , Senator Shehu Sani who ,thanked the Catholic Church of Nigeria for invaluable award, said ,” I feel highly honoured to receive such prestigious award for appreciating our own modest contribution to humanity. When an award is given, it is an encouragement, it is a booster and energiser for the recipient in appreciation for what he or she has done. I also believe that an award a path to the future. It is not simply about what you have done in the past. It propels you to do more.

” Catholic organisation in Kaduna has been as long as our history. The Catholic organisation has contributed tremendously to the socio-economic life of the people of Kaduna State. We grew up where we saw the hands of Catholic in education, in health, peace and harmonious coexistence in Kaduna State. The Catholic church in Kaduna is part and parcel of our life. Today we have established institutions that has benefited every irrespective of his religion or ethnic identity.

” I can say that there is no indigene of Kaduna State that has not benefitted from the magnanimity of Catholic in the State. Unfortunately as I am receiving this award.

“I will also use this opportunity to say that over the years, religious leaders have suffered tremendously in the hands of bandits and terrorists in the State. We have  seen Muslims leaders killed, we have also seen where Christian leaders are killed. But there is no one segment of religious groups that have suffered in terms of targeting church leaders by bandits like the Catholic church.

” We have seen the adoption of many of your Priests, and killings of many of your Priests. There are those  of us who have never relented in condemning every aspect of  this systemic attack on Catholic church.

“I can remember some years ago, how a terrorist rammed a vehicle into Catholic church in Malali and killed many worshippers and injured several others. I can also recall  a number of Priests that I know personally that were killed by terrorists. But for me as one of the major stakeholders in Kaduna State, I can tell you that you still have a role to play by adding more to the efforts to cement the divide  that exists between the Northern and Southern part of Kaduna State.

“The river Kaduna that divides the North and Southern part of Kaduna should be a source and a fountain for peace, unity and cordial relationship between the North and South of the State. Kaduna State is one of the top three States that have suffered in the hands of terrorists. There is no part of this State that is immune to terrorism attack.”

TAKE A HARD LOOK IN THE MIRROR, rejoinder to Babachir David Lawal

TAKE A HARD LOOK IN THE MIRROR, rejoinder to Babachir David Lawal

By
Umar Duhu
I find it deeply troubling that Babachir David Lawal aka BD Lawal, being former Secretary to the Government of the Federation and who is supposed to assume a role of public figure and representative of the people would resort to divisive rhetoric and perpetuate bigotry. The very essence of his standing is to serve the best interests of the public, and it is imperative that he does so with integrity, responsibility, and a commitment to fostering unity and tact.

His choice to use of bigotry, in any form, has indeed no place in our contemporary society. It only serves to sow discord and deepen divisions, which is the antithesis of what a responsible politician should be working towards, if at all he is one.

I implore BD Lawal to take a hard look in the mirror and reflect on his actions, because he lacked the moral compass to throw shades at the President or Vice President. He takes solace in propagating divisive antics, whereas, the best expected of him is to work through and bring all shades together as children of Adama and it is only then, can we hope to build a harmonious society for all of us to live in. Though every individual is entitled to their beliefs and perspectives, his unwavering defensiveness and opposition to meaningful discourse have left a significant void in his pursuit of progress. It is indeed disheartening to witness BD Lawal’s continuous resistance to constructive, meaningful and peaceful dialogue in the political arena.

It is crucial for our society to foster an environment where different opinions can come together to find common ground, leading to policies that benefit the greater good. Your persistent obstruction of this vital process is not only detrimental for our constituents but also raises questions about your commitment to the very principles of democracy upon which our nation is built.

Mr. BD Lawal, I invite you to do an introspection and take a hard look of yourself in the mirror.

Firstly, every founding leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) knows BD Lawal couldn’t have become the National Vice Chairman (North East) of the APC in 2014 without the firm commitment and support of the Vice President Sen. Kashim Shettima GCON, while held sway as the Executive Governor of Borno State. It is not in doubt that, you contested that election with Umar Duhu and he defeated you out rightly at the APC National Convention 2014. But, for some political extigencies, he was persuaded and prevailed upon to allow you fly.
Secondly, BD Lawal knew he couldn’t have become the Secretary to the Government of the Federation without unpretentiousness and generousness of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. In the APC, pre 2015 general election permutations, the nomination for the positions of Vice President, Senate President and the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) were solely the responsibility of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR, who was then, the leader of the merging political parties.

Mr. BD Lawal, have you forgotten that, you only garnered Six (6) Votes for the APC in his poling unit in Kwambula, Banshika Ward. Yet President Bola Ahmed Tinubu prevailed on the then President Buhari to appoint you as the SGF after knowing fully, you are a Christian. But, here you are, openly maligning the Person of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria? How many Churches or Christian Communities has he genuinely supported when he held sway as the SGF. Does it mean, he is inconsiderate and his sketchy statements posit his ways of paying back for all the favoritism by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR and Vice President Kashim Shettima GCON?

The cogent grass-cutting saga and several other incongruity under his watch, before he was booted out of office still suffices. But, I know both Mr. President and the Vice President will not be mean and excessive to look in that direction.

Power and wealth are both given by God The Almighty. If BD Lawal is truly a Pastor, he should know this and ought to be guided. I am therefore disappointed in his shallow imaginary believe that, one Peter Gregory Obi won the 2023 Presidential election, not the APC and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu GCFR. I hold that, BD Lawal should revert to Theology once more, maybe he will come to terms with the realities of human existence on earth.

It is my hope that BD Lawal will reconsider his stance which in my opinion is laced with vile prejudice. Vulgarism is no longer fashionable to merit patronage. Rather, I urge him to repent and rejoin the APC in the spirit of cooperation, working towards solutions that can truly make positive impact on the lives of our people. The time for divisive rhetoric and hateful views should not have place in our society and must end, while unity and constructive dialogue shall prevail. And be guided too, those who live in glass houses don’t throw stones.

$4.8BN Missing Crude: Mele Kyari Should resign and allow for Transparent Investigation

Conference of Nigeria Political Parties (CNPP) in conjunction with Allied civil society organizations under the aegis of coalition of national civil society organizations against inept leaders has called on NNPCL GCEO Mele Kyari to Obey Court order and publicly disclose the whereabouts of proceed of stolen 48 million barrels of Nigeria’s Bonny light crude stolen and stored in china since 2015.

Professor Chris Mustapha Nwaokobia Jnr (Convener, Countryfirst movement) Comrade James Ezema (Deputy National Publicity secretary CNPP), and Alhaji Ali Abacha (National secretary, coalition of Nigeria civil society organization) while addressing journalist in a world press conference in Abuja said the NNPC/NNPCL has been at the center of the illegal sale of 48 million barrels of Nigeria’s Bonny Light Crude in China since 2015 valued at 4.8 billion dollars at $100/barrel as leaked by a whistle-blower.

Nwaokobia said beyond preventing lawmakers from carrying out their constitutional oversight functions of probing oil theft cases, using the former Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, the NNPCL Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr Mele Kolo Kyari has also refused to obey the order of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) to disclose and publish, in the interest of the public, the whereabouts of the proceeds of the sale of the 48 million Barrels of Bonny light Crude Oil Stolen from Nigeria and stored in china under his watch.

According to the Coalition a federal high court Judge, Justice F.A. Aliyu, made an order on July 12, 2023 and Since the order was made, till date, Engr Kyari has carried on as though the court did not exist, let alone issuing an ordered.

In view of the refusal of the Mele Kolo Kyari-led management of the NNPCL to obey the order of the Court and obvious efforts to frustrate every process that could lead to unraveling the mystery behind the illegal sale of the 48 million barrels of Nigeria’s Bonny Light Crude in China in 2015, valued at $4.8billion dollars as leaked by whistle-blowers, the group demanded for the immediate suspension of the NNPCL’s GCEO to pave way for unhindered investigation into the matter.

The group also called on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, as a matter of urgent national importance, to suspend Mele Kyari and carry out full forensic audit of the old NNPC and the new NNPCL under his watch.

Recall that in February 2023, a Ad hoc Committee openly accused then the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, as well as the INTERPOL, of interference in the committee’s investigation regarding the Exposure.

The Chairman, House Ad hoc Committee on Oil Theft, Mark Gbillah had said, “There is a group called Advocacy for Good Governance and Free Nigeria. That is the so-called Civil Society Organisation that wrote to the Attorney General claiming there was this international gang of blackmailers trying to blackmail senior officials of the government.

DG APC Support Groups Faults Distribution of FG’s Palliatives… Says it didn’t Trickle down to less privileged

Distribution of FG’s Palliatives Didn’t Trickle Down to Less Privileged – DG APC Support Groups Alleges

The Confederation of All Progressives Congress (APC) Support Groups , Engineer Kailani Muhammad today alleged that the distribution of Federal Government’s palliatives by states did not trickle down to the less privileged in the society.

According to the DG who made the allegation during a press briefing held at Barcelona Hotel,Wuse 2,Abuja so far, there seems to be no sign or intention to utilise the money as intended by the federal government

He However appealed to the state governors to properly utilise the N5 billion palliatives for the less privileged to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.

Speaking further he said , “We appeal to the 36 state governors to properly utilise the N5 billion, President Bola Tinubu gave each state Governor as palliatives for the less privileged to cushion the effects of the fuel subsidy removal.

“So far, there seems to be no sign or intention to utilise the money as intended.

The big question here is that, where is the money? Has it been swallowed or eaten -up by a snake, like we were told happened in some states sometimes back?

“We, at the Confederation of APC Support Group, will take the initiative to unravel the mystery behind this debacle,’’ he said.

Muhammed also appealed to Tinubu and APC as a political party to use political appointments as reward system to all APC support groups in the country.

According to him, APC support groups should be rewarded for toiling under the rain and sunshine, using their money, time and energy for the success of the APC at the 2023 general elections.

He also commended the security agencies for curtailing insurgency, kidnapping and other violent criminal activities in the country.

“We commend the Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Mathew Musa, the Chief of Army Staff, Toareq Lagbaja, and heads of other security agencies for their diligence in minimising insurgency, kidnapping and other violent criminal activities in the country.

“However, the security situation in Nigeria demands more proactive measures.

“We have observed that some repentant Boko Haram members trained by the Nigerian Army to be re-absolved in to the civil society, are now finding their way back to Sambisa forest to join their comrade- in -arms.

“This could be deadly because of the additional training they might have acquired by the Army re-orientation initiatives.

This might put the North East, North West and North Central Zones on the spot,’’ he said.

Muhammed urged that security surveillance should be beefed up around the zones and the Civilian Joint Task Force must be supported by government in terms of logistics and training.

He added that the steps would positively impact on community policing for effective data processing to the armed forces and security agencies,’’ he said (NAN) (www.nannews,ng)

LAWMAKERS N160M EXOTIC CARS: THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS FAILED NIGERIANS-Fadojoe.

LAWMAKERS N160M EXOTIC CARS: THIS ADMINISTRATION HAS FAILED NIGERIANS
-Fadojoe.

The leader of Rescue The Vulnerable Initiative aka Rescue Movement For New Nigeria and former Labour Party presidential aspirant, Comrade Faduri Oluwadare Joseph aka Fadojoe, has decried the insensitivity of the Nigerian lawmakers over the purchase of exotic car at N160 million per lawmaker; at this time when the economy of the country is on free fall, that many civil servants can no longer feed their family due to ridiculously low earnings and ridiculously high cost of food, as well as the worst fuel situation due to the unguided announcement of subsidy removal without adequate preparation to cushion the effects.

This he disclosed through his audio media chat with newsmen in Nigeria on Thursday October 19, 2023. According to Fadojoe, “it’s so shameful that at a time when our dear country, Nigeria is going through the worst economic downturn since the history of the existence of the country, our Lawmakers could use borrowed funds by the government to buy exotic cars for themselves; at the cost of over N160 million per lawmaker. At the time when the sudden announcement of subsidy removal has thrown the nation in total disarray. At a time when an average Nigerian can no longer afford three square meal, in fact, when some families can’t even afford two meals a day. At a time when education is becoming so expensive that many people are dropping out of school. At a time when nothing has been done about the bad roads all over the country. At a time when people can no longer send their kids to school as they desired. At a time when so many youths are graduating and there is no job. At time when many companies are closing down and leaving the shores of our country for other nations: our Lawmakers and our political class who are supposed to show examples, are the same people gifting themselves exotic cars of over N160 million”.

The activist further lamented that it is over 7 months that president Bola Ahmed Tinubu assumed office, and the government that couldn’t afford to increase minimum wage from N30,000 despite the free fall of the nation economy, yet the Lawmakers major concern now is Exotic official cars of over N160 million for each of them.

He referred to that as height of “insensitivity exhibited by heartless political class in a nation that has been so indebted” that the country’s debt servicing cost has risen by 55.71% to N1.24 trillion this 2023. Yet we are borrowing $1.5 billion that supposed to be for project out of which, it’s obvious that these cars will be purchased from the additional debt.

Referring to the situation as “recklessness” he added that it is so shameful that the leaders that are supposed to lead by example, claiming to go to the National Assembly to serve could display such attitude depicting that they don’t care about the plight of the ordinary citizens. Even the Labour Party Lawmakers that rose to power on the wing of the “ObiDient” movement clamouring for a new Nigeria will also collect the exotic cars that the government borrowed to buy and cruise in the car without guilty conscience.

Stressing that this is shameful for the APC government of president Bola Ahmed Tinubu that the president could not intervene to say this is wrong in a country that the economy is nosediving. Lamenting further he asked what kind of country we are running when “this money could have been used to create jobs, when such money can be put into education, or into fixing our electricity, or to fix our dead refineries, to ensure we have good road in Nigeria or to ensure education is affordable. Or such money could have been used to ensure we have functional car manufacturing company in Nigeria.

“I have been to 26 countries around the world that the citizens leave better than Nigerians due to good governance, yet in most of these countries, their political class don’t ride such exotic cars at the expense of the citizens. Rather they use cars produced in the country. Examples of these nations are USA, UK, Canada, even Mexico, even Dubai and many other nations.

“What happened to our nation, why are our political leaders so selfish, so heartless and so insensitive to the plight of the suffering masses in the country? We must change all these political structures of materialism and of oppression: until then before we can say we have a nation. We are watching, the world is watching. But it’s certain that one day there will be a new Nigeria we all crave for, as the kind-hearted Nigerians yearning for good governance will take their country back”, he concluded.

Group Condemns Protest Against New EFCC Boss … Insists Olukoyede is Qualified

Group Condemns Protest Against New EFCC Boss … Insists Olukoyede is Qualified

Group under umbrella of  Good Governance Forum (GGF) said the protests trailing the appointment of Mr. Ola Olukoyede as the newly appointed Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission are unnecessary considering his experience and capacity.

According to the group, those behind what was described  as ‘frivolous protest’  over his qualification across the country have little or no knowledge about his experience in same EFCC.

It would be recalled that President Tinubu announced the appointment of both Olukoyede and Hammajoda on Thursday, October 12, 2023. The appointment came four months after the suspension of the former EFCC chairman, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

However, members of the Centre for Democracy and Human Rights, on Tuesday, stormed premises of the National Assembly to kick against the choice of Olukoyede as EFCC chairman.

The National Secretary of the Human  Rights group,Mr Adebayo Ogorry, during the protest, alleged that the choice of Olukoyede contravened the extant laws guiding the appointment of the EFCC chairman.

But  in a swift reaction to the protest, National Chairman of Good Governance Forum ,Comrade Mustapha Ibrahim Gimba in a statement made available to Journalists in Kaduna today said, “Those kicking against his appointment didn’t consider relevant position of EFCC Act that states that the Chairman must at least be an Assistant Commissioner of police or  equivalent in security service or law enforcement .

The statement further reads ,”As a pressure group, known for our stand against injustice for  over six years in Nigeria,We wouldn’t have any reason to kick against the sponsored protests, but for purposes of clarity and need for progress, the choice of Olukoyede is best for this country if we want to tackle the problem of corruption in our government agencies.

“The major issue raised by the prostesters are issues of qualification and cognate experience. We make  bold to say he’s qualified in all sense to led the anti-graft agency having served as Chief of Staff to EFCC Chairman  and Secretary of the Commission at different times.

“EFCC requires someone with “Inside Knowledge” about the operations of the anti-graft agency to able work deliver on the mandate or ridding the country of acts of corruption.

“And those talking about cognate experience and  issue  of  legality and constitutionality of the appointment should know that the President who appointed him knows better, reasons for his choice.

“We strongly believe that people saying  Olukoyede is not a career security or law enforcement personnel with up to 15 years of experience as EFCC act demands have not read EFCC Act.

The group however urged the the Senate to go ahead  and confirm  Olukoyede and Muhammad Hammajoda as the substantive Chairman and Secretary, respectively, of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission.
