Joe Ajaero’s Assault: We Appeal to NLC to Shelve Planned Strike -Confederation of APC Support Groups

In it efforts to stop the planned strike action, Confederation of All Progressives Congress Support Groups (CASG) has asked the Nigeria Labour Congress to shelve action scheduled  for protest against the recent  assault on it National President, Comrade Joe Ajaero in Imo State .

According to the APC Support Groups, the appeal is made against the backdrop of the palpable tension dire consequences the  NLC protest might have on the fragile economy .

In a press statement made available to Journalists today , the APC Support Groups insisted  the strike action will no doubt ,derail and stampede the economy and create unnecessary chaos by its consequential associated halting of all economy activities in the country.

While emphasing on need to call off the strike, which according to him, if left unattended, has the capacity to disrupt the entire fabrics of the economy and socio-democratic processes of our dear nation, the DG drew attention of the labour unions on some of the most devastating effects of the impending strike action.

The statement further reads : “We believe that the NLC knows the consequences of the planned strike action fully well, more than anybody else.

“The Common man on the street, who the NLC protects, will be more negatively impacted. This is because the already high cost of goods and services will sour to unimaginable proportions. This is deadly because they cannot be bought down with the change of situations. As we all know, prices do not ever come down in Nigeria once they go up.

“It is in view of the above submissions that we are making this appeal, firstly as concerned citizens and more importantly, as true democrats, whose main focus is the well-being of the Nigerian nation.

“NLC should, as a matter of contingency, remove any planned strike action on its agenda to solve any issue that might have been raised between the union and Imo State government.”

The support groups however, advised  NLC to engage the Imo State government on a round table discussion for an amicable solution, instead of using aggressive methods that worsens situations.

They appealed to  NLC , the umbrella body of Nigerian workers, to shelve its planned strike national action on the physical assault on the Nigerian Labour Congress President , Comrade Joe Ajaero in Imo State.

Oil thieves, few retired NNPC staff, idle lawyers gang-up against Kyari, Group alleges

Oil thieves, few retired NNPC staff, idle lawyers gang-up against Kyari, Group alleges

A group under the auspices of Nigeria Accountability Monitors(NAM) has lambasted the Coalition of Nigerian Legal Practitioners for calling for the sack of NNPC GCEO, Mele Kyari. It also accused some recently retired senior and management staff of conniving with “idle lawyers and other hirelings” to attack the NNPC’s Mele Kyari/ Umar Ajiya- led management.

A media statement signed by the group’s Chairman, Sabiu Ibrahim on Thursday evening, described the lawyers coalition led by Adesina Bernard as “mischief-makers acting the script of a few among the recently retired officials of the NNPC in an overhaul exercise meant to reposition the company”.

Sabiu, in the statement, described leader of the anti-Kyari lawyers group, Adesina Bernard as “hacks working against a highly proactive Kyari/Ajiya led management team that has been exposing illegal oil refineries run by big thieves in the country”.

He then queried: ” Where does the Coalition of Lawyers stand? With oil thieves and mischievous persons who made good fortunes working under the Kyari/Ajiya management team but recently retired to pave way for routine, legitimate succession? Or are they with the big thieves running illegal refineries? Why are they openly opposed to the transparency in managing the NNPC as a company in which all Nigerians are now equal stakeholders?”

Ibrahim, in the statement, said “NAM has hereby given the Coalition of Lawyers 48 hours ultimatum to tell Nigerians one reform policy of the Kyari/Ajiya management team that is not necessary for the growth and economic development of Nigeria; or just shut up”, and “stop crying wolf where there is none”.

NAM also challenged the lawyers group to name one person in the NNPC, at the moment, who they think has “the transparency and bravery to break the NNPC away from the inglorious past, than Kyari and Ajiya”.

The group then warned the lawyers: ” We will no longer fold our arms and watch ethnicity promoters being sponsored by oil thieves, attempting to needlessly attack the Kyari/Ajiya management team that has successfully turned around the fortunes of the NNPC the way no one has ever done. Enough is enough”.

NAM also noted: “Though groups from the North have maintained unjustified silence over the attack on their illustrious sons in the current NNPCL management, we are fully prepared to legitimately defend the Kyari/Ajiya reforms, to put an end media attacks guided by regional coloration”.

The group then declared:
“Dependable sources have also revealed to us, that some few persons at management level within the NNPC are also conniving with hired outside forces, to undermine the sterling achievements of the Kyari/Ajiya- led management; or at least give a dent to their credible leadership of this African oil giant. They are nothing but backstabbers and they won’t succeed in their demonic agenda against Nigeria and her efficient, transparent NNPC management”.

Is this Govt a money looting Govt or a Nation building Govt?-Fadojoe (Former Labour Party Presidential Aspirant)

Is this Govt a money looting Govt or a Nation building Govt?
-Fadojoe (Former Labour Party Presidential Aspirant)

The pertinent questions raised by a former presidential aspirant under Labour Party and the leader of Rescue The Vulnerable Initiative aka Rescue Movement For New Nigeria is if the President Tinubu led All Progressive Congress government only come to loot or really ready for nation building.

In his online interactive session with newsmen the activist directly address Nigerians as follows, “My fellow Nigerians, at this point, it is very imperative to ask ourselves and the Apc led Government of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu if his Government he tagged “Renewed Hope” is a government for nation development and building or simply an administration that its sole purpose is to loot our national treasury to zero.

“I ask this question because in less than 6 months in office, this administration has borrowed more than any government in the past has borrowed in their first 6 months in office. And this government has spent chunk of the borrowed funds to itself and cohorts.

“It is if note that after announcing the removal of oil subsidy by Mr President himself. And saying that he felt our pain as a nation, the same President borrowed money only to give over N70billion to National Assembly only. The same administration talked about giving N8,000 each to some 15 million poverty ridden Nigerians according to their own estimate; only to turn back overnight after backlash based on public opinion, without reasonable policy sending N5 billion to each State governor. And up till now no state has accounted for a penny on how the said money was utilized.

“As if that is not enough, under this same administration, the nation’s highest law making body National Assembly gifted themselves exotic cars each worth over N160 million per lawmaker. Now we woke up again to hear that the president will be spending over N5 billion on just Yatch for the President and more than N6 billion to the office of the first lady for luxurious cars: all from borrowed money at the expense of the suffering masses, groaning under the heavy yokes of high fuel pump price, high cost of living without any kind of succor and economy downturn.

The young presidential aspirant then put forth the following questions begging for answer, “How insensitive can this government be? How irresponsible can this administration be? How wicked can these set of leaders we have in a Nation where we produce nothing but consume more than we borrow be?”

Lamenting as usual about the present state of Nigeria that, ordinary citizens cannot afford one square meal a day. And workers still get N30,000 as minimum wage, which cannot buy one bag of rice, or beans or even grain.

Wondering how the son of the president can boldly be using presidential jet for private use to polo sport in kaduna. “So it is hard for me to reconcile the statement coming from the mouthpiece of this president and its media spokesperson and what we Nigerians are seeing and reading on the pages of newspapers everyday.

“Is this the renewed hope Mr President promised or do we call it renewed Loot? No accountability from any sector from federal down to the state or local government. A government that promised to flood the country with fuel efficient buses for public use and more than a month after that announcement Nigerians are yet to see even one bus on the street of Nigeria.

“A government that promised student loans for Nigerian youths and all we have seen so far is the opposite of a 400% increase in University school fees instead.

“Nigerians have been subjected to do much hardship that an ordinary activist in Nigeria is so hungry that he can no longer advocate for good governance anymore. A Nation where journalists have turned to public advocates instead of reporting news and moderating interviews. A Nation where many of its citizens are now resulting into ritual to survive. An average Nigerian no longer have a heart but heartless. An average Nigerian no longer care about one another, but care-less. A Nation where Nigerians are no longer their brothers keepers but brothers killers. A Nation where we have everything but lack everything.

“This government need to change her approach to governance.
Nigerians may not be quiet for long. Nigerians cannot continue to see a government that preaches the need for endurance about the hardship, poverty, insecurity, joblessness, inflation in the nation but looting and wasting so much borrowed resources on bogus lifestyle.

Advising the government to retrace her steps and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to lead by example, he added that Mr. President cannot ask Nigerians to endure, to persevere, to be patient but his government will then daily lavish billions borrowed, on lifestyle that could be moderate than it is. Asking again if we can say it is not President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that is running our nation but the cabals as they always say. “Or do we have Godfathers again dictating things for this President? If not Mr. President should change gear. This compass isn’t going the right direction and Ordinary citizens are suffering enough.

“Even if politicians no longer have the fear of God in our country ,let have fear of humanity, fear of those suffering to survive daily fears of children with no hope of going to school, fear of many household fathers that can no longer provide for their family.

“I still believe some days Nigeria will be a great nation. Mr President Bola Ahmed Tinubu should think of legacy he wants to live behind. Don’t be just past President after your tenure is over, be a change agent that will be in the history book of Nigeria forever and the journey to that starts from now. May God bless the federal republic of Nigeria”, he concluded.

Group Blasts Wike Over Attempt to Impeach Gov Fubura

Rivers : Good Governance Group Condemns Attempt To Impeach Governor Fubura.

… says he’s done nothing to warrant such undemocratic act

… Berates Fmr Governor Wike

Group under aegis of Movement for Good Governance in Nigeria (MGGN) has condemned the alleged attempt by some members of the State House of Assembly to impeach Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara.

The group ,which berated Nyesom Wike, Minister of Federal Capital Territory FCT Abuja, described the alleged grand plot to impeach Governor Fubara as unfortunate and undemocratic.

The information gathered revealed that the lawmakers, who are believed to be loyal to Wike, had signed an impeachment notice against the embattled governor early Monday morning.

The Movement for Good Governance in Nigeria ,which disclosed this in a press statement signed by its National Chairman, Comrade Garba Ahmadu Suleiman said , “It’s against this background that the group decided to fight and stand against this undemocratic act by the sponsored lawmakers. “

Although ,the group in the statement said it can’t confirm that former Governor Wike is the brain behind the grand plot to unlawfully attempt to impeach Fubara who is barely five months in office as Governor of River State, he has done nothing wrong to warrant his removal except for the fact that he has decided not to remain a stooge to the immediate.

According to the group which accused Wike of trying to control the state and waste resources said move to remove the Governor by 24 members of the House of Assembly will lead to unwarranted break down of law and order in the state .

The statement further reads : “We consider this development very worrisome and capable of generating an unwarranted state of insecurity and instability that can throw the entire Niger Delta and the Nigerian economy into serious crises.

“We urge Wike to concentrate on his responsibilities as Minister of FCT and stop interfering and arm twisting the political machinery in River State to advance his personal and selfish desires”.

It however ,called on all democrats and Nigerians to rise against this brazen oppression and suppression of duly elected leaders , especially a Governor such as Fubura.

FCT: Senator Shehu Sani Explains Why Tinubu Appointed Wike

A former lawmaker representing the Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Shehu Sani, on Wednesday, revealed why President Bola Tinubu appointed Nyesom Wike as Minister of the Federal Capital Territory.

According to Sani, Tinubu appointed Wike as minister because the President does not want to betray the former Rivers State Governor for working for him in the 2023 general elections.

He called on Wike to dump the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and focus on the All Progressives Congress (APC) rather than playing games with the two parties.

The former lawmaker said this will give Wike the opportunity to work excellently for President Tinubu as the FCT Minister and without distractions.

Sani revealed these in an interview with Arewa Punch.

He said, “Asiwaju (President) wants to send a message that he does not betray those who work for his own emergence.

“As long as Wike remains in the PDP, it won’t be a relevant party because it will never be relevant in its scheme of opposition. Because they will control the structure of the party and ensure that whoever will emerge will not be a serious threat to the APC.

“PDP is still afraid of taking action against those who undermined its victory and it will confine it to irrelevance as far as it has no punishment for anti-party elements because as long as there are people who have one leg in the PDP and one in APC, PDP will never fly and nobody is going to take the PDP seriously as far as party politics is concerned.

“Once it has become the appendage of the APC because for Wike to remain in the PDP, is to make sure it never plays the role of an opposition party. He is the hand of Esau in PDP, the voice of Jacob in APC.”

He further stated, “My own advice is for Nyesome Wike to simply decamp to APC where he will be able to serve the party and also leave PDP to claim its role as an opposition.

“It will be more respectable for him to join the APC and work without being distrusted by both sides because if he continues to divide his legs between the APC and the PDP, he will live as a very confused, disorganise man with an unstable political career.

“So, as far as I am concerned, he has a lot to deliver. As Minister of FCT, I have no doubt about his capacity as a performer. One that will bring sanity to Abuja and so many changes, but he is still being seen as a Judas and the position is occupying is his own 30 pieces of silver and that is not a good position.

“The best thing is for him to decamp so that he can work very well for President Bola Tinubu and also for the APC.”

Sani observed that with the current political situation in the country, the main opposition party had found itself in an uncomfortable position of not being able to deal with those who worked against its electoral victory in the 2023 general elections.

He noted, “There’s is no doubt about it. Wike and his colleagues, their actions after losing the presidential primaries seriously undermined the presidential ambition of Atiku Abubakar and also the chances of the party.

“So, they are people who have betrayed their party and have now found camp. Wike was a man who described PDP’s problem as malaria and APC’s problem as cancer but has now found himself in a cancerous position.

“As far as I am concerned, I think the PDP has to choose where it wants to be in the history of Nigeria’s politics at this time.

“Does it want to be a strong opposition party that would stand up to the excesses and brigandage and the antics of the APC? Or does it want to be a subordinate of the APC because if those who betrayed or undermined the party are allowed to go scout free, it is encouraging each and every person to do that.”

Sani insisted that an opposition party must distinguish its position, principle, and stance and also sustain its focus as far as the country is concerned, otherwise, the Labour Party might take the shine off the party and play the role of the real opposition party to the APC.

He said, “PDP has lost power to APC, and it is now losing the role of the opposition to the Labour Party. If you look at what is happening, most of the attacks and counterattacks are coming from the APC and the LP.

NNPCL Reforms: We’ll Give Mele Kyari necessary support to succeed – House of Reps

cus

New investment benchmarks will transform NNPCL

In its efforts  to ensure maximum output and smooth operation in the oil sector, the House of Representatives caucus pledged to support  President Bola Tinubu-led administration to achieve a seamless implementation of fuel subsidy removal and other aspects of the Petroleum Industry Act 2021.

According to House of Reps caucus consisting of over 50 members drawn from across the country, the Petroleum Industry Act 2021 is the most audacious attempt to overhaul the petroleum sector, once bedevilled by controversies and uncertainties.

Hon. Seso Ikpagher (Benue APC) who disclosed  this ,described the PIA as the best thing to happen to Nigeria’s oil sector and one of the numerous reforms birthed by the Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigeria National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Engr. Mele Kyari.

He, however, lamented that the implementation of the law and operationalisation of its objectives remains a cause for serious concerns.

If properly effected, Ikpagher noted that the PIA has the potential to impact Nigerians positively, facilitating economic development by attracting and creating investment opportunities for local and international investors.

While admitting that the expected gains of the Petroleum Industry Act have not been fully actualised, he expressed optimism that with Kyari, Nigerians can be hopeful.

To this end, he said the House of Reps has resolved to give the NNPCL boss all the necessary support to succeed.

Meanwhile, Hon. Iyawe Esosa (Edo, LP) described Kyari as the game-changer in the oil and gas sector not just in Nigeria but the continent.

Esosa said the NNPCL GCEO came at a turbulent period characterised by low production, burgeoning vandalisation of oil pipelines, oil theft on a grand scale, and demoralised staff of the company.

However, just a little over three years later, he said the story is different.

“The signing of the PIA by former President Muhammadu Buhari was perhaps the biggest breakthrough for Kyari as it opened the door for more significant changes in the national oil giant,” he said.

“We can’t forget how he worked for the passage of the PIA. Today, we have a new, refreshed, and rejuvenated NNPC. He has gone a step further to initiate new investment benchmarks to further rejuvenate the once-ineffective company.

“Nigeria’s oil and gas industry is now on a transformative path, unlocking opportunities for growth and prosperity in the sector. The end of the fraudulent subsidy regime was another milestone.

“Under the leadership of Kyari, the company has taken significant steps towards enhancing transparency and accountability in the industry. One of the ways he has done this is by publishing monthly financial and operational reports.

“For Kyari, it is about the country. And together with other distinguished colleagues, we have vowed to support him in breaking new grounds and achieving more”.

ELECTION IS OVER LET’S BUILD A COALITION TO RETIRE THIS OLD GROUP OF SIT-TIGHT POLITICIANS IN THE NEXT ELECTION

Comrade Faduri Oluwadare Joseph aka Fadojoe former presidential aspirant under Labour Party has called on Nigerians who are interested in building a new nation to wake up to the reality that it takes a united people determined to rescue their country and ready to give it all it takes to rescue Nigeria from this old generation of sit tight politicians who have destroyed and still destroying the everything that remains. Yet still not ready to surrender power willingly.

Speaking with newsmen online from his base in the United States of America (USA) he expressed how from day one of this election he clearly predicted that it’s “white elephant project that is going anywhere. Here we are today, affirming my earlier submission and predictions made clear a day after the election.

“Since this administration came in to office, the life of an ordinary citizen has been turned apart. More impoverishment, more hardship, more suffering, more agony and deeper crashing.

“A government that started with disrupting the nation with sudden announcement of subsidy removal and up until now, the nation has not remained the same again. I believe in the legitimacy of the President, that no doubt but this government that promised renewed hope has failed Nigeria (as a country) and still fails Nigerians.

The activist again lamented the deteriorating state of the country as, “things are getting worse by the day due to the unfavourable policies of this government that made no plan and no positive implementation. Our nation has been a country of hell, and people can’t even afford one square meal per day.

“Our economy is in a totally shamble. Our naira is on a free fall every day. Insecurity all over the nation, especially in the northern part of Nigeria. Our Educational system is degraded to zero, food is out of reach of ordinary citizens and at worst a government that is insensitive to the cry of the nation where the government is borrowing to loot and to lavish. A government that in the midst of poverty and still borrowing, yet its National Assembly gifting themselves official car each worth N160million after their initial N70 billion dashing themselves money from the nation treasury, even when Nigerian workers still earn less than $50/per month. A government that announced student loans for Youths only to slam them with 400% school fees hike. A government with no plan and policies for children, elderly and people with disabilities.

Proffering solutions, the 2023 Labour Party presidential aspirant said, “we must come together and start building a coalition to bring Nigerian together under one big umbrella and not all these divisions in our political parties and process

“We must put this government on its toes to make policies that can impact Nigerian positively. People are suffering, people are hurting, people are hopeless, people are dejected, people are dying every day in our nation due to poverty, hunger, insecurity and others.

“We do not have any other nation to go to, we must come together to fight for this one we have. This government must seek help where it is needed help and not just make it a party affair, but go outside its party to seek help if need be.

“This government must thoroughly think through their policies before unfolding them to Nigerian and before implementing them as well.

“I want our nation to succeed and that success can only happen if we all put hands on deck. I mean both the government (in power) and formidable opposition, to check-make excesses of this government and to start putting our heads together for a formidable alternative ahead of 2027. May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” he concluded
