Shehu Sani Commends Gobir Communities for Heeding Call to Confront Bandits

Shehu Sani Commends People of Gobir Communities for Heeding Call to Confront Bandits

…Says People’s Shahada Actions overdue

The former lawmaker,Senator Shehu Sani has praised the people and residents of Gobir Communities in Sokoto State,North-west Nigeria for heeding to call for People’s Shahada Actions and move into Forests to confront the so call daredevil bandits face to face.

According to the human rights activist, it’s high time the people took over the fight against banditry frontally without fear.Stressing,”No better time for People’s Shahada Actions than now.”

Shehu Sani, who has expressed anger over killing of Emir or Gobir and the incessant cases of kidnap by ravaging bandits in the northern regions, said failure on side of security agencies to tackle issues of insecurity, especially banditry compelled him to make the call for People’s Shahada Actions as the potent solution to contain the excesses of bandits.

In a post via his Facebook handle today, he averred that , “The solution to the incessant and intractable problems of the cruelty and menace of Banditry in the North West is a People’s Shahada action, which is a masses movement to fumigate and disinfect their lands, forests and farms against banditry and bandits.

“This theory is aimed at permanently freeing the people from the criminality of kidnappings and killings so that they can take back their lives, their farms and schools.

“Vigilante and security agencies can all collaborate and cooperate on this in order to achieve results.
May Allah brings peace to our dear country.”

Senator Sani had in past raised the alarm about how bandits took over the north and how they were able to establish governance structure.

His words: “Virtually now, bandits in the North West have become a state within a state. They have been able to establish governance structure in the sense that they don’t just kidnap and extort money, it has reached a point where they even install.”

He also did make frantic efforts while in the Senate to call on security agencies to make bold steps to solve problems Boko Haram and surging banditry before getting out of hands .

He equally did same, when he made a video speaking on need to rescue late Emir of Gobir before he was killed by bandits.o

However, this time the former lawmaker rather enjoined all citizens and residents across the three geo-political regions to move into Forests and dislodged all bandits.

Breaking: Uba Sani’s Gender-Responsive Procurement Policy, a Masterstroke, Says Associate

Malam Aminu Zaria, a close associate of Governor Uba Sani, has hailed the signing of the Gender Responsive Procurement Policy as a “groundbreaking move” that will revolutionize women’s economic empowerment in Kaduna State.

Answering questions from newsmen at the weekend, Zaria described the policy as a “masterstroke” that demonstrates Governor Sani’s commitment to inclusivity and gender equality.

“This policy, which I have not heard of anywhere in Nigeria, is a game-changer for women in Kaduna State. It’s a bold step towards bridging the economic gap between men and women, and empowering women to contribute meaningfully to the state’s growth and development,” he said.

Zaria praised Governor Sani for his visionary leadership, saying that the policy aligns with the state’s medium-term development plan and sets a new standard for women’s empowerment in Kaduna State.

Fadojoe advocates for former DSS DG, as he advises incoming,Tinubu

Fadojoe advocates for former DSS DG, as he advises incoming,Tinubu

No doubt, the measurement of a man’s tenure in office, especially in a nation like Nigeria, may not necessarily be measured by the reaction of staff.

Yusuf Magaji Bichi served Nigeria in his capacity as the DSS DG to the best of his ability, I would think. And as his removal is a constitutional right of Mr President, we in the public domain would appreciate his service to our nation and dedication to fight corruption in the face of a nation where emotions runs high in our daily life.

Occupying such an higher office is not a joke and it comes with so many challenges that sometimes that subordinate may have no knowledge of, but in it all; his service to the people of this country would not be taking for granted.

He served his own time with his best, and the last time i visited the DSS, no doubt I was able to have an insight look at the challenges they face every day as well. So on behalf of well meaning Nigerians, thank you for your service Yusuf Magaji Bichi.

Having said that, my advice to the incoming new DSS DG is to be cautious as it’s seen in the public domain that the staff of DSS are rejoicing over his appointment, many will come as friends only to destroy or praise so they can bend the rules in so many ways. Leaders, many at times are never seen as good, especially in a nation like ours; if people are not directly benefiting from him instead of people benefiting from government, but they see their leader as the one many at times  as the person blocking their promotion, their benefits. Therefore I will advise the new DG to exercise restraint and caution and not be carried away with staff jubilation of his appointment or jubilation over his predecessor removal, as those who did same for his ex-boss might end up doing same for him when it’s time.

Finally, as the new DG takes the oath of office, please remember your service is to Nigeria as a nation and Nigerians as people, and not to do the bidding of the political class.

The job requires providing intelligence information that would lead to protection of our country from enemy within and without, the presidency, and all government officials without also compromising when any leader acts in a way that can jeopardize the peace and security of Nigerians.

The New DG of DSS should stay out of politics and not to be used as instrument for the incumbent to go after their perceived  political enemies. The institution also know its jurisdiction not to interfere in affairs outside their organization.

Peace and security of our nation with intelligence gathering to help fight insecurity in the nation and any act that can threaten security of life and property no doubt is the major obligation of the DSS and we hope this organization will stick to that and not be used as tool for punishment by politicians on the other side of the aisle.

The President of Nigeria His Excellency Bola Ahmed Tinubu has the right to remove and replace any government official at any time, as enshrined in the constitution; but in doing so, the president must always do so in fairness and in service to the nation not just as political appointment to those who will do the bids of the government, instead of the people.

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria

APC Nat’l Chair: Niger People Root For Prof. Kailani Muhammad

APC Nat’l Chair: Niger People Root For Prof. Kailani Muhammad

… Says he’s most qualified

People of Niger State have come out en masse to make a passionate appeal to Prof. Kailani Muhammad to vie for the Director General of Amalgamated All Progressives Congress Support Groups for National Chairmanship position of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The call is coming on the heels of news filtering from the APC, as to whether Dr. Umar Ganduje, the current APC National Chairman will remain in office or bow out due to pressure.

The group in a statement titled: “PROF KAILANI MUALHAMMAD FOR APC NATIONAL CHAIRMAN” the Niger people harp their argument on the fact that the position is zoned to the North Central zone, to compensate for the shortlived tenure of former party Chairman, Alhaji ABDULLAHI Adamu.

The statement further reads:”Niger State, which the amiable, humble, juggernaut politician and grassroots mobiliser, Professor Kailani comes from, they emphasised, is the most qualified for the exalted position. It is a matter of putting a square peg in a square hole.

According to the group, Kailani is the most trusted politician from the zone, that undoubtedly can deliver on that mandate, hence, the unwavering support for the noble cause.

“It could be said without fear of contradiction that, the choice of Kailani for the post of National Chairmanship of the APC, is the best thing that can happen to the ruling APC as a formidable political force in Nigeria and indeed the African continent, an APC stalwart, (who preferred not to be named), from the zone said categorically.

“This submission is hinged on the tripod of Prof.Kailani’s track record as a political juggernaut; a tested human resource manager and conflict resolution expert.

“Kailani has traversed through all the complex political landscape of Nigeria: from grassroots to leadership levels.

“His sojourn with Gen Muhammad Buhari former president of Nigeria as a loyal disciple, through 2004 to 2023, has tremendously equipped him with the requisite leadership quality that the APC craves for ,in order to put its house in order at this trying moments.

“Let it be underlined that, the root causes of intra-party contradictions in Nigeria, APC inclusive are, rancour party primaries;imposition of candidates for elective offices, impunity, injustice and self_serving templates with no clear ideologies.

“Prof Kailani has an in-built mechanism capacity to mitigate against all these negative perspectives, when given the opportunity as National Chairman of the greatest revolutionary party in Africa.

“This is because he is self discipline, humble and always stands for truth, no matter the cost.

“The psychology of quality leadership is to attain valuable insights into situations and resolve them such that there will be no Victor no Vanquish.

“For effective quality leadership, a good leader must engage communication, integrity, confidence, clear decision making templates, strategic thinking, empathy and decisiveness among others.

“These qualities are deeply enshrined in Prof Kailani and he is willing and ready to avail the APC an opportunity to tap into them, for the benefit of the party and the Nigerian nation in general. This is good, the sojourn with buhari is 2003 to 2023” .

KADIRS AND CAPTURED ENTREPRISES WITH HIDDEN ADDRESS

KADIRS AND CAPTURED ENTREPRISES WITH HIDDEN ADDRESS

By Nasir Dambatta

In a state like Kaduna, where the government battles a myriad of challenges to fuel its economic engine, a formidable yet often overlooked enemy lurks in the shadows—hidden tax dodgers. These individuals and entities, emboldened by a culture of impunity, siphon much-needed funds from the public coffers, leaving the state to grapple with financial inadequacies that cripple development. But now, the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) is saying enough is enough. With a daring crackdown on these shadowy figures, KADIRS is not only on a mission to bolster revenue but also to reshape the state’s economic future.

The Stakes Are High: Why This Crackdown Matters

KADIRS’ crackdown on tax dodgers is more than just an administrative exercise; it is a pivotal move that could redefine Kaduna’s economic landscape. Here’s why:

1. Revenue Maximization: Plugging the Leaks in Kaduna’s Finances

For years, Kaduna’s budget has been hamstrung by the elusive wealth of tax evaders—monies that could have transformed communities, built roads, and funded schools. By dragging these dodgers out of the shadows and into the tax net, KADIRS aims to significantly swell the state’s revenue coffers. This isn’t just about hitting targets; it’s about funding the very lifeblood of Kaduna’s infrastructure and public services. With more funds, the state can breathe life into dormant projects, driving forward its development agenda with newfound vigor.

2. Fairness and Equity: A Level Playing Field for All

Tax evasion isn’t just a crime; it’s a betrayal of public trust. When some people shirk their tax responsibilities, they unfairly shift the burden onto the law-abiding citizens who diligently pay their dues. This creates a system where the rich get richer by dodging their obligations, while the average citizen struggles to make ends meet. KADIRS’ crackdown is a step towards righting this wrong. By ensuring that everyone pays their fair share, the government fosters a culture of compliance, where every naira contributed is a stake in the state’s future.

3. Economic Growth: Building a Conducive Environment for Business

The relationship between a state and its taxpayers should be symbiotic. When businesses and individuals fulfill their tax obligations, they empower the government to create a business-friendly environment—complete with the necessary infrastructure, security, and services that attract further investments. The revenue generated from this crackdown will be channeled into initiatives that stimulate growth, creating a cycle of prosperity where businesses can thrive, and in turn, contribute even more to the state’s development.

4. Transparency and Accountability: Restoring Public Trust

KADIRS is not just after the money; it’s after the trust of the people. For too long, tax evasion has thrived in an opaque environment where accountability was an afterthought. By shining a light on the murky dealings of tax dodgers, KADIRS is making a bold statement: that Kaduna is committed to transparency. This crackdown is a message to every resident and business that the days of slipping under the radar are over. It’s also a reminder that the government is accountable to the people, and that tax revenue will be used for the public good.

The Blueprint: How KADIRS Is Executing This Crackdown

This crackdown isn’t a haphazard endeavor; it is a meticulously planned assault on tax evasion, driven by innovation and strategic partnerships.

1. Data-Driven Surveillance: Tracking the Ghosts in the System

In today’s digital age, data is power. KADIRS is harnessing the power of advanced data analytics to identify potential tax dodgers. By cross-referencing financial records, transaction histories, and even lifestyle audits, the agency is piecing together the puzzle of hidden wealth. This data-driven approach allows KADIRS to zero in on tax dodgers with pinpoint accuracy, ensuring that no one slips through the cracks.

2. Strategic Partnerships: Uniting Forces Against Evasion

KADIRS knows it cannot fight this battle alone. That’s why it is forging alliances with banks, financial institutions, and professional associations. These partnerships are crucial, as they provide KADIRS with the intelligence needed to uncover sophisticated evasion schemes. By working together, these entities are building a wall of accountability around the tax system, making it increasingly difficult for dodgers to operate in the shadows.

3. Public Awareness Campaigns: Educating and Encouraging Compliance

Fear is a powerful motivator, but so is knowledge. KADIRS is launching extensive public awareness campaigns to educate taxpayers about their obligations and the severe consequences of evasion. These campaigns are designed to demystify the tax process, making it easier for people to comply voluntarily. By fostering a culture of tax literacy, KADIRS is not only catching dodgers but also preventing future evasion.

The Road Ahead: What This Means for Kaduna

The implications of this crackdown are far-reaching and could set the stage for a new era in Kaduna’s fiscal policy.

1. Changing Mindsets: Cultivating a Culture of Compliance

This crackdown is not just about penalizing the guilty; it’s about changing how people view taxes. By making an example of those who have evaded their duties, KADIRS hopes to instill a sense of responsibility in every taxpayer. Over time, this will lead to a cultural shift where compliance is the norm, not the exception.

2. Expanding the Tax Base: Ensuring Sustainable Revenue

As more tax dodgers are caught and brought into the system, Kaduna’s tax base will naturally expand. This expanded base means that the state will no longer be overly reliant on a small group of taxpayers. Instead, the burden will be shared more equitably, ensuring a steady and sustainable revenue stream for the state.

3. Enhanced Public Services: Delivering the Dividends of Democracy

The ultimate goal of this crackdown is to improve the lives of Kaduna’s residents. With more revenue, the state can invest in public services that directly impact the quality of life—better healthcare, improved education, and more robust infrastructure. These are the dividends of democracy that every citizen deserves, and KADIRS is ensuring that they are delivered.

A Call to Action

KADIRS’ crackdown on hidden tax dodgers is not just a policy; it’s a bold declaration that Kaduna will no longer tolerate the theft of its future. By promoting transparency, fairness, and accountability, this initiative is laying the foundation for a more prosperous and equitable Kaduna. As KADIRS continues to peel back the layers of deceit, it sends a powerful message to all tax evaders: the shadows are no longer safe. It’s time for other states to take note and follow suit, because the future of Nigeria depends on it.

“This empowerment grant is in response to the economic situation of the country. We are aware of the challenges of the masers. “As a way of ensuring judicious use of the fund, we have collaborated with a micro finance bank which will disburse the fund and monitor it. We are also confident, because every beneficiary has proven to us beyond reasonable doubt, what they will do with the money.

“We have also through the micro finance bank trained the beneficiaries on business management. We are going to monitor their business performance through the micro finance bank.

“Our plan is not to empower people to use the money to feed, we are empowering them to become employers of Labour, so that in the nearest future, they can also empower other people. In that way, we will have a better constituency,” he said.
