Banditry:Group Passes Vote of Confidence on Matawalle, Service Chiefs

Banditry:Group Passes Vote of Confidence on Matawalle, Service Chiefs

…urges Zamfara Governor to stop blame game

Elated by proactive measures taken to eliminate bandits in the northwest region, the National Forum for Peace and Unity (NFPU) has urged the Minister of State for Defence , Bello Matawalle and other service chiefs to remain focused and avoid distractions on his avoid commitment to rid the country of bandits and other criminal elements.

According the forum, the intensified efforts by the federal government to rid the North-west of the menace of banditry, kidnapping and other forms of terrorism is gradually yielding results .

The Minister of State for Defence,Bello

Matawalle, on September 3, sought the

support of the Sokoto State Government

and citizens to execute President Bola

Tinubu’s directive to flush out bandits

and other criminals terrorising the

North-West.

The National Forum for Peace and Unity in a press statement signed by coordinator Alhaji Ibrahim Ahmadu Dambata, passed a vote of confidence on Matawalle and called on Zamfara State Governor, Alhaji Dauda Lawal to stop the blame game over the insecurity challenges in the State and join together with his predecessor and Minister of Defence, former Governor Bello Mattawalle.

While stating that,”The people of Zamfara State are tired of frequent  killings, kidnappings and threats of attack on communities that fail to contribute money to bandits, it said, those who accused Matawalle of having ties with bandits and the ones finding it different to face the reality of the feat achieved in the fight against banditry.

The statement further reads,”Anyone who wants progress and development of this country should be happy with the actions taken against banditry and stop the unnecessary blame games as well as thr political witch-hunting.

“We all know that banditry in the northwest region , especially Zamfara State requires a united and calculated approached from all stakeholders and former governors of the State to address once and for all.

“We insist that it’s not time for political blame game ,but the opportunity to be united and support  the federal government to ensure that bandits are completely eliminated from the region.

“The forum therefore expressed dissatisfaction over the manner the  state government is handling the security of lives and properties in the State and appealed to the Governor to rather explore the opportunity of having his predecessor as a Minister of State for  Defence.”

BEHOLD THE NEW LAMIDON KATSINA: Hon. Abdullahi Tsauri

BEHOLD THE NEW LAMIDON KATSINA: Hon. Abdullahi Tsauri

By: Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed

In the golden heart of Katsina State, a new star has risen. The air is equally thick with joy and merriment, illuminating the path of progress and exemplifying the true spirit of leadership. Ladies and gentlemen, shall we gaze at the newly turbaned Lamidon Katsina, Rt. Hon. Abdullahi Jabiru Tsauri, FCAI—a man whose life story points to the power of perseverance, education, and dedication to public service?

From the quaint town of Tsauri, a young boy emerged, his eyes bright with curiosity and his heart full of dreams. This is where our story begins, in the promising corridors of Tsauri Primary School, where young Abdullahi Jabiru first put pen to paper. Unknowingly, he’s setting forth on a journey that would lead him to the brightest echelons of Katsina leadership. From these modest beginnings, Jabiru’s thirst for knowledge propelled him through the four walls of Katsina Teachers College, to the prestigious lecture rooms of Bayero University Kano, and finally to the hallowed grounds of Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria.

With each step and each degree earned, Jabiru was not just accumulating accolades but building a foundation of wisdom and insight that’s serving his home country now. This is a man who understands that true knowledge is forged in the crucible experience. His career is woven with threads of diverse experiences—moulding young minds as a teacher at Government Secondary School, Malumfashi.

He steered the ship of local governance as the Chairman of Kurfi Local Government. Notably, each role added a new dimension to his understanding of the challenges faced by his people. Thus, preparing him for the monumental responsibility of serving as Chief of Staff to the Katsina State Governor. In all of these positions, Tsauri has become a model of governance, a master of the delicate art of policy formulation and the intricate dance of legislative affairs.

Yet, the story of Jabiru Tsauri is not limited to the corridors of power. It spills over into the bustling streets of Katsina’s business district, where his entrepreneurial spirit has given birth to a roundup of ventures. From the warm welcome of his hospitality establishments to the steady hum of his construction sites, from the life-giving waters brought forth by his drilling operations to the transformative potential of his petrochemical endeavors, Tsauri has proven that leadership is not just about governance but about creating opportunities, about lifting others as you rise.

At this point, imagine a man standing at the crossroads of tradition and modernity, his feet firmly planted in the rich soil of Katsina, but his gaze reaches far beyond the horizon. This is Jabiru Tsauri, a global citizen whose passport bears the stamps of nations as diverse as Saudi Arabia and the United States, France, Germany, Cyprus, Egypt, and Turkey. With each journey, he has gathered fascinating memories, insights, ideas, and innovations that he now brings back to enrich our beloved Katsina.

And now, we come to the crowning glory of this remarkable journey—the title of Lamidon Katsina. But what, you might ask, is the significance of this honour? This is a title that is not merely a string of letters before a name but a mantle of trust placed upon the shoulders of one deemed worthy by none other than the Emir of Katsina himself. The Lamidon Katsina is more than a title; it is a sacred responsibility, a call to serve as a bridge between the people and their traditions, a guardian of cultural heritage, and a beacon of progress in a rapidly changing society.

The turbaning ceremony, presided over by His Royal Highness, Alhaji (Dr.) Abdulmumini Kabir Usman, the Emir of Katsina, was not just a personal triumph for Tsauri but a moment of profound significance for all of Katsina. The air filled with the sonorous chants of praise singers, the rhythmic beat of traditional drums, and the colourful swirl of flowing robes as dignitaries from far and wide gathered to witness this historic moment.

This ceremony was more than pomp and circumstance. It was a clarion call for unity, a moment when the Emir, in his wisdom, used the occasion to address the fractures within the community. His words rang out, clear and powerful, urging the people to come together, to support the needy, to purify their society. And who better to help lead this charge than the new Lamidon Katsina, a man whose life has been dedicated to the service of others?

Going forward, I see in Rt. Hon. Jabiru Abdullahi Tsauri, FCAI, not just a title holder but a torchbearer. His journey from the classrooms of Tsauri to one of the highest echelons of state government, from local entrepreneur to global thinker, has equipped him with a unique set of tools to tackle the challenges that lie ahead. In him, I see the promise of a leadership that is both rooted in tradition and open to innovation—a leadership that understands the pulse of the people and the demands of a rapidly changing world.

To the people of Katsina, this is our moment. As we behold our new Lamidon Katsina, let us not merely celebrate but commit ourselves to the vision of unity and progress that he represents. Let us rally behind him, offering our support, our ideas, and our energy to the cause of making Katsina a shining example of what is possible when tradition and progress walk hand in hand.

My distinguished, I congratulate you on this new addition to your flowers. May your reign as Lamidon Katsina be long and fruitful. May you continue to inspire, to lead, and to serve. May your wisdom guide us, your courage inspire us, and your vision unite us. As you take up this sacred mantle, know that you carry with you the hopes, dreams, and aspirations of an entire people. Congratulations, Sir.

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU ON THE BORNO FLOOD DISASTER IN NORTHERN NIGERIA

AN OPEN LETTER TO PRESIDENT BOLA AHMED TINUBU ON THE BORNO FLOOD DISASTER IN NORTHERN NIGERIA

Dear President of Nigeria,
It is sad to read and watch how Nigerians are now not just dieing of hunger but now dieing of human made negligence that is claiming many lives in our nation and of mention is the recent flood disaster in Borno State ,northern part of Nigeria.

Our country has been taking one step forward but 10 steps backward because of the kind of government we run, which lacks law and order, rewards, and punishment.

So many people are going away with so many evil deeds in our nation every day, and no one gets punished for anything. Laws are used against the poor, ordinary Nigerians and not the rich and/or the political class.

Up till now, Ex Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello walks the street of Nigeria without being picked up by law enforcement agents, Ex-Minister Beta Edu is out there free from corruption probe, no punishment.

There are so many anomalies in our nation and no consequences, just like this Borno flood disaster that may end up like other dysfunctional leadership in our nation.

We run our nation with no accountability, and this is why so many bad things are happening every day in our nation.
Mr. President, this incident must be a wake-up call for leadership to wake up to responsibility and actions. Everyone who allowed this evil to happen as a result of their corrupt inaction must be brought to justice.

Finally, May the souls of people that we lost in Borno rest in peace, and may God give the families and the community the fortitude to bear the loss.

In conclusion, our leaders must do better than we have been having since 1960 independence.
Nigeria must work, Nigerian can work, and I still believe it. I want my government to work, and this is why I speak on the issues that affect the nation daily

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria .

Faduri Oluwadare Joseph

Gov Radda Hosts Air Marshal Abubakar, Vows to End Insecurity, Supports Farmers

The Executive Governor of Katsina State, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda has vowed his administration’s dedication to enhancing security measures and promoting agricultural development in the state.

The Governor made this known during a courtesy visit by the Chief of Air Staff (CAS), Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar at Katsina Government House, today.

During the visit, Governor Radda appealed to the Air Chief for continued support to the state, emphasizing the importance of collaboration between the state government and the armed forces.

“We assure the armed forces of our readiness to support their efforts in any way we can,” stated Governor Radda.

He went on to express his appreciation for the cordial relationship championed by the military leadership and acknowledged the recent improvements made to the facilities at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport.

The Governor highlighted the state’s multifaceted approach to addressing the root causes of banditry, drawing inspiration from a recent visit to the United States with other Northwest Governors.

“I recognize that unemployment, illiteracy, and lack of livelihood opportunities are major contributors to the security challenges we face,” Governor Radda explained.

He emphasized that with approximately 90% of Katsina’s population engaged in agriculture, the state government has prioritized investment in this sector.

To this end, Governor Radda announced several initiatives aimed at boosting agricultural productivity and creating employment opportunities.

“Last week, we deployed about 30 billion naira to purchase equipment for mechanized farming,” he stated.

The Governor also revealed that Katsina State has procured and distributed more fertilizer than any other state in Nigeria, ensuring timely delivery to farmers.

In addition to these measures, Governor Radda disclosed plans to distribute over 4,000 solar-powered irrigation pumps, particularly targeting youth engagement in agriculture. “This initiative will not only enhance food security but also provide sustainable livelihoods for our young people,” the Governor affirmed.

Addressing the security situation, Governor Radda reported significant progress in identifying and apprehending informants collaborating with bandits. “The Katsina State Security Watch has been instrumental in this effort, leading to the arrest of over 1,000 informants,” he revealed.

The Governor cited a recent case where the arrest of one woman led to the apprehension of 67 additional suspects in a single village.

Governor Radda urged community members to organize themselves proactively and encouraged residents to remain vigilant. “We are actively engaging traditional rulers, religious leaders, and community heads to identify and eliminate suspicious elements within our communities,” he stated.

Reacting to the governor ‘s briefing on the state security, the Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Hassan Abubakar, commended the state government’s efforts in enhancing intelligence gathering and sharing mechanisms. “The priority given to security in the past year has fostered a more conducive environment for sustained socioeconomic growth and development of the state,” Air Marshal Abubakar noted.

“I appreciate the Governor for his commitment towards lasting peace in the State, especially in his efforts at establishing the Katsina Community Watch Corps,” he stressed.

In furtherance to this, the Air Marshal Abubakar assured the Governor of his desire to deploy more Special Forces troops to the NAF QRWs in Katsina, Daura and Funtua which are strategically located to complement efforts to the armed forces and other security agencies.

He also expressed his condolences to the government and the good people of Katsina State over recent Denise of Late Hajiya Dada Yar’adua, mother of former President Umaru Musa Yar’adua.

The Katsina State government remains committed to a comprehensive approach that addresses both immediate security concerns and long-term socioeconomic development.

Breaking: KADIRS Sounds Alarm on Tax Impostors

Breaking: KADIRS Sounds Alarm on Tax Impostors

The Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has raised the alarm over the activities of fraudulent individuals and groups posing as tax collectors, defrauding unsuspecting members of the public.

Speaking at a Press Conference in Kaduna, the KADIRS Executive Chairman, Comrade Jerry Adams, warned that these impostors are operating a coordinated cartel to deceive the public, and are not authorized by the agency.

According to him, some of these impostors have already been apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to catch the remaining criminals and their sponsors. KADIRS assured the public of its commitment to ending the menace of fraudulent levy collectors and maintaining transparency, integrity, and accountability in all operations.

The agency also warned taxpayers to ensure that all tax clearance applications and payments are processed through official KADIRS channels, and not to make payments to private accounts or individuals. He also disclosed that some of its staff members have been implicated in issuing fake tax clearance certificates, and are taking stringent measures to identify and punish those involved.

Furthermore, Comrade Adams warned about the proliferation of fake drivers’ licenses and vehicle documents in the state, urging the public to be vigilant and ensure that all documents are obtained from authorized channels. “We have received reports of individuals and groups selling fake drivers’ licenses and vehicle documents, which is a serious security risk. We urge the public to report any suspicious activities to the authorities,” he said.

“The public is urged to report suspicious individuals or groups claiming to represent KADIRS without proper identification or authorization. With the public’s cooperation and vigilance, KADIRS aims to maintain a law-abiding and prosperous Kaduna State”, he told newsmen on the sidelines of the press conference.
