How El-Rufai Took Late President Buhari to Court, Criticized His Policies – Group Alleges

How El-Rufai Took Late President Buhari to Court, Criticized His Policies – Group Alleges

Northern based group, Northern Frontiers for Buhari (NFB) has raised allegations about how Former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, betrayed the trust of the late President Muhammadu Buhari through sustained criticism and legal confrontations that, according to a civic group, weakened the cohesion of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a statement released to the press by  Northern Frontiers for Buhari (NFB)and signed by Comrade Murtala Musa Daura, the group alleged that El-Rufai’s relationship with Buhari, once seen as close and politically strategic, degenerated into public opposition, policy defiance, and subtle sabotage—actions they described as acts of betrayal.

“One such example,” the group said, “was when El-Rufai dragged the Federal Government under Buhari to court over issues related to federal appointments and resource control. Legal records show a governor persistently at odds with the central government—even when it was controlled by his own party.”

The group emphasized that this legal resistance came at a time when Buhari’s administration needed unwavering loyalty from state governors to address pressing economic and security challenges. “El-Rufai’s posture was seen by insiders as a deep betrayal that undermined internal party unity,” the statement read.

They also recalled that in 2023, just months before Buhari’s tenure ended, El-Rufai openly condemned the controversial naira redesign policy introduced by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), labeling it “senseless” and “ill-timed.” He blamed Buhari’s economic team for worsening the plight of ordinary Nigerians.

In a defiant move, El-Rufai’s Kaduna State government instructed residents to continue using the old naira notes, in direct opposition to federal directives—a stance widely interpreted as an act of rebellion against the presidency.

“Political watchers saw this not just as resistance to policy but a public rejection of Buhari’s leadership—especially shocking, coming from someone believed to have risen politically through Buhari’s support,” the statement added.

The group further alleged that El-Rufai was part of strategic political meetings that backed individuals within the APC who were critical of Buhari’s inner circle. Citing leaked memos, they claimed El-Rufai once described Buhari as “detached” and “surrounded by incompetent loyalists.”

Although El-Rufai never formally distanced himself from Buhari’s administration, his statements and political maneuvers suggested a calculated effort to reposition himself as Buhari’s influence began to wane.

“From being one of Buhari’s most trusted allies and a pillar in the 2015 APC electoral victory, El-Rufai morphed into a sharp critic and political opportunist. His transformation has been described by many as a textbook case of political betrayal,” the statement concluded.

The group also criticized El-Rufai’s continued political posturing even after Buhari’s passing. “El-Rufai is simply an opportunist who hid under Buhari’s political goodwill to pursue his own ambition. Even in death, Buhari’s legacy is still being trampled on by people like him.”

Shehu Sani to  Elrufai: You who deducted and diverted LG allocation for 8 years without being impeached Now Talks about Tinubu deducting money

Shehu Sani Says Elrufai who deducted and diverted LG allocation for 8 years without being impeached Now Talks about Tinubu deducting money

Former lawmaker representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District, Senator Shehu Sani, has lambasted former Kaduna State Governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, over his recent comments criticizing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu on alleged deductions from federal allocations.

Reacting via his verified Facebook page, Shehu Sani accused El-Rufai of hypocrisy, noting that the same El-Rufai who allegedly deducted and diverted local government allocations throughout his eight-year tenure as governor—without being impeached—is now faulting Tinubu for similar actions.

“Is this not the same El-Rufai who allegedly tampered with LG funds consistently during his time as governor? How come no one held him accountable then?” Sani asked, echoing sentiments shared by many political commentators on social media.

During El-Rufai’s administration, several local government chairmen reportedly raised concerns over irregular remittances and the lack of financial autonomy. However, despite persistent accusations, no formal investigation or impeachment proceedings were initiated by the Kaduna State House of Assembly.

President Tinubu’s administration has come under fire over tough fiscal measures, including the removal of fuel subsidies and alleged deductions from federal allocations, which critics say have strained state and local government finances.

El-Rufai’s recent remarks criticizing these policies appear to have reignited public scrutiny of his own legacy, prompting debates over selective accountability in Nigerian politics.

Analysts say the unfolding drama underscores a growing pattern where former office holders attempt to rebrand as critics while avoiding responsibility for their actions in office.

As reactions continue to pour in, Nigerians are calling for a more consistent and transparent approach to governance, urging leaders past and present to be held to the same standards in the spirit of true democratic accountability.

Hon.Gabriel Saleh Distributes 12 Trucks of Fertilizer to Constituents

Farming Season: Rep Gabriel Saleh Distributes 12 Trucks of Fertilizer to Constituents

By John Femi Adi, Kaduna

As part of efforts to boost agricultural productivity and support local farmers, the Member representing Kachia/Kagarko Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Rt. Hon. Gabriel Saleh Zock, on Thursday flagged off the distribution of 12 trucks of fertilizer across all wards in his constituency.

Speaking during the flag-off ceremony held in Sabon Sarki, Zock emphasized the importance of timely support for farmers to ensure a successful planting season.

“Farmers are in dire need of inputs this season to ensure good yields. This intervention is aimed at empowering them to achieve that goal,” he said.

The lawmaker, who received commendations from constituents, also announced plans for additional interventions, including a ₦200 million empowerment fund for youth and women, ₦100 million for religious leaders, an undisclosed amount for traditional rulers, and a scholarship scheme for 1,000 students.

Zock expressed confidence that the early distribution of fertilizer would result in a bumper harvest and pledged that the initiative would be sustained annually for as long as he remains in office.

The distribution exercise began with the symbolic handover of fertilizer to representatives of farmers’ unions, religious organizations, and traditional institutions. He charged the distribution committee to ensure that the fertilizer reaches the intended beneficiaries without delay.

2 Yrs of Unparalleled L’ship: Gov Uba Brings Govert Closer to Indigenes, Exceeding Expectations- Tom Garba

2 Yrs of Unparalleled L’ship: Gov Uba Brings Govert Closer to Indigenes, Exceeding Expectations- Tom Garba

“… Governor Sani is a moral compass, a father figure, and a steady voice. Kaduna is rising, and under Uba Sani’s unparalleled leadership, its future burns brighter than ever.”

By Emmanuel Kwada

In the vibrant heart of Northern Nigeria, Kaduna State is undergoing a transformative renaissance under the dynamic and visionary leadership of Governor Uba Sani. His two years in office have redefined governance, bringing government closer to the people and surpassing expectations with a focus on human capital development, security, and inclusive growth.

Tom Garba, a proud son of Kaduna State and publisher of TGNews, has passionately lauded Sani’s achievements, describing them as a beacon of hope for millions. “Governor Sani’s leadership is not just about laying bricks and mortar; it is about building lives, restoring hope, and securing a prosperous future for millions of Kaduna’s citizens,” Garba declares.

Kaduna has long been a cradle of intellectual and cultural heritage, but under Governor Sani’s stewardship, it is now a trailblazer in educational transformation. Garba, reflecting on the recent KADA EduPACT International Summit 2025, held from July 9 to 11 at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Centre in Murtala Square, calls it “a defining moment in Kaduna’s journey.”

This groundbreaking summit united global and local stakeholders, including the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO), UNICEF, the World Bank’s AGILE initiative, the Islamic Development Bank, Save the Children, the Malala Fund, and Miva University, to forge a homegrown education model tailored for Kaduna’s future.

Governor Sani, as the summit’s chief host, delivered a stirring message: education is Kaduna’s “smartest economic and security strategy.”

His administration’s unwavering commitment to harnessing education to combat poverty, unemployment, and insecurity has struck a chord with stakeholders worldwide.

The summit’s theme, “Strategic Visioning for Educational Transformation: Developing the Kaduna State Education Model,” captured Sani’s bold vision for a resilient, inclusive, and technology-driven education system.

As Garba notes, the KADA EduPACT framework, unveiled at the summit, stands on six robust pillars: equitable access, quality teaching and learning, sustainable financing, digital innovation, gender inclusion, and a resilient, well-monitored education system.

“These are not mere promises but are backed by concrete achievements. Sani’s administration has invested ₦500 million in Kaduna State University (KASU), securing accreditation for 40 new academic programs, strengthening higher education.

“A historic 40% tuition cut across state-owned tertiary institutions has sparked a surge in enrollment, ensuring financial barriers do not deny any child an education.”

The summit also confronted the scourge of out-of-school children, which Sani has called “a stain on our collective conscience.”

Through the Reaching Out-of-School Children (ROOSC) Project, Kaduna has constructed or rehabilitated over 1,000 classrooms, commissioned 62 new secondary schools, distributed 1.48 million instructional materials, and provided nearly 31,000 two-seater desks. Real-time digital dashboards now monitor enrollment and completion, showcasing Sani’s data-driven approach, which Garba praises as “a masterstroke in governance.”

Stakeholders at the summit proposed a Kaduna State Education Reform Council to streamline policies and championed a ₦440 billion investment plan to reposition Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

This initiative aligns curricula with industry needs, transforming schools into hubs of economic empowerment. The integration of almajiri children into vocational programs and the removal of barriers like compulsory uniforms and PTA levies further exemplify Sani’s inclusive vision. Garba emphasizes, “Sani is ensuring no one is left behind.”

The Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, hailed Kaduna’s policies as a national model, while the British Deputy High Commissioner, Gill Lever OBE, reaffirmed the UK’s support through the PLANE program.

The UN Deputy Secretary-General also praised Sani’s leadership, a testament to Kaduna’s global recognition. “This is the Kaduna we’ve always dreamed of,” Garba asserts, crediting Sani’s vision for this educational revolution.

Governor Sani’s impact extends powerfully into healthcare, where his collaboration with the World Health Organization (WHO) has delivered transformative results. Speaking through his deputy, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, a medical doctor, Sani has consistently praised WHO’s role in advancing public health and strengthening health systems.

Garba highlights this partnership as “a game-changer,” noting its success in improving immunization coverage, enhancing disease outbreak prevention, and fortifying surveillance systems across Kaduna.

Sani’s reforms have expanded access to primary healthcare, improved maternal and child health services, and strengthened disease surveillance architecture. His commitment to universal health coverage shines through in his pledge to deepen WHO collaboration and reach underserved communities.

“Kaduna State is committed to investing in the health and well-being of our people,” Sani declared, a statement Garba describes as “a promise kept.” The results are tangible: Kaduna’s healthcare system is more resilient and equitable, with significant strides in polio eradication and disease control.

Security is a cornerstone of Sani’s governance, and his non-kinetic approach has made Kaduna safer and more harmonious.

The Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Olufemi Oluyede, recently commended Sani’s inclusive government, stating, “Since you came on board, Kaduna State has been more peaceful.” Garba echoes this, crediting Sani’s support for the Nigerian Army and strategic coordination with security forces.

Sani’s administration has prioritized dialogue, community policing, and the recruitment of over 7,000 personnel for the Kaduna Vigilance Service. Interfaith forums, youth peace initiatives, and community reconciliations have replaced suspicion with unity.

The domestication of the Open Government Partnership Action Plan for 2024 and 2025, a pioneering move in Nigeria, has institutionalized transparency and citizen engagement. President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, during a recent visit, marveled at Kaduna’s transformation, a sentiment Garba shares: “Sani has turned Kaduna into a model of peace and progress.”

While Sani’s administration has invested heavily in rural roads, schools, and hospitals, his true legacy lies in human capital development. The Kaduna Economic and Financial Inclusion Summit (KEFIS) amplified his inclusive growth agenda, while investments in vocational institutes in Soba, Zangon Kataf, and Igabi, alongside the upgrade of Panteka Market—Africa’s largest informal skills center—are empowering thousands of youths. “This is leadership that transforms lives,” Garba asserts.

Sani’s human-centered approach aligns with global aspirations, as Bill Gates noted: “By unleashing human potential through health and education, every country in Africa should be on a path to prosperity.” Kaduna is firmly on that path, guided by a leader who measures success in lives changed.

Tom Garba, publisher of TGNews and a proud son of Kaduna, is inspired by Sani’s unwavering commitment. His recognition as an Icon of the Fourth Republic by OrderPaper Nigeria reflects his legacy as a lawmaker and governor.

The KADA EduPACT Summit, WHO partnership, and security achievements are beacons of hope for a state once mired in challenges. “Governor Sani is a moral compass, a father figure, and a steady voice,” Garba writes. Kaduna is rising, and under Uba Sani’s unparalleled leadership, its future burns brighter than ever.

Faduri Oluwadare Joseph(FADOJOE): Buhari May Have Died, But Many Buharis Still Live Among Us; What Nigerians Must Do to Rescue the Nation in 2027

Faduri Oluwadare Joseph(FADOJOE): Buhari May Have Died, But Many Buharis Still Live Among Us; What Nigerians Must Do to Rescue the Nation in 2027

To all my fellow younger generation.

I saw many reactions to the moment Buhari died. Everyone has the right to their reactions. Every Nigerian who had the opportunity, who saw Buhari as Head of State to a civilian President, has the right to react. Buhari has died, but the havoc, pain, hunger, and poverty that he left behind cannot be forgotten in a hurry.

Some of us who want to become Nigeria’s leaders tomorrow may not be ranting online, speaking against his personality, or talking negatively about him at his death, but that can’t erase the so much havoc he committed when he was alive and doesn’t mean what he did must not be talked about, every Nigerian has the right to hold their opinions.

People have the right to speak, to rant, to express the pains that are in their hearts caused by Buhari. Forever, so many people, whose loved ones have been kidnapped, killed, must express their feelings, there are so many people whose loved ones have been killed, so many people are abroad today because of the bad governance of the likes of Buhari, and the likes of them who are in coalition or preaching coalition today, and the likes of them who are still in government today stealing our money.

But my challenge to Nigerians, my challenge to our younger generation is that all these leaders have destroyed our nation, we must wake up, the death of Buhari should not only make us rant and leave it like that, we are at a point where we need to fully register to vote, we need to be well involved in the next election, coming in 2027, and not give the power again to the older generation, anyone above 60-65 should go and sit down and let the power come to the younger generation, the younger generation has been the ones suffering most in Nigeria.

Let people in their 60s and below, who have felt the agony and pains, who have seen it all, let them be the ones who will take the mantle of leadership in Nigeria, That’s why I’m coming to say, we are coming to rescue our nation, and I’m going to lead that rescue.

I’m calling on all Nigerian youth to let us come together, it’s not going to be by money, because we can’t beat them by money, neither by dollars for dollars or by pounds for pounds, no, they are fully loaded with our money they have stolen, but we can beat them by the power we have, which is the power of voting and participating fully in the electioneering process.

We have protested for many years, but with no positive effects. It’s enough, we have been protesting, but let the next protest be at the ballot. Let our next protest be our vote, that’s how we are going to change the course, the course of our nation.

Let the death of Buhari and the sickness of his calibres that are still alive empower us to say, enough is enough. In 2027, we are going to do everything possible to vote out all these underperforming and corrupt people in government.

Let us not just rant, because after ranting, we may still go and vote for their set of underperforming people that are still alive, buhari could have died today, but people of their calibre are still alive today, some in power while some of them are still fighting for power.

If you are ranting about Buhari and supporting one of them, that shows you are not different.

Nigerians must chart a new course in 2027. New course. New people. New foundation. People like us, with younger people’s interests at heart, who have not taken a penny illegally from any government, or bribed to collect any contract in Nigeria.

To rescue our country from suffering, hardship, insecurity, bandits, corruption, and other social ills should be our message for now.

Someday, very soon, if we believe, and we are ready to commit ourselves, we will have a new Nigeria that we will all be proud of.

Open Letter to His Excellency President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR from Rescue Movement Delta State Chapter

Subject: Urgent Attention Needed for Benin-Warri Road Rehabilitation Project

Dear Mr. President,

I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to bring to your attention the deplorable state of the Benin-Warri Road, a critical infrastructure project that has been under rehabilitation for some time. As you may be aware, this road is a vital conduit for trade and commerce, connecting key economic hubs in Benin City and Warri.

The current state of the road is a nightmare for road users, causing significant delays, damage to vehicles, and loss of lives. Despite the efforts of contractors, the project has been plagued by delays and non-performance. I humbly appeal to your Excellency to intervene in this matter and ensure that the contractors are well-mobilized to deliver the project within the contract duration.

Key Benefits of the Benin-Warri Road:

  • Promotes trade and commerce between Benin City and Warri
  • Connects key economic hubs, facilitating the movement of workers and supplies
  • Supports daily life and travel for employment, education, healthcare, and other personal needs
  • Enhances regional integration and economic cohesion
  • Holds historical significance, connecting two important cultural hubs

Progress Report:

The project has seen some progress, with the Edo State Government assuming responsibility for a 23km stretch of the road. However, more needs to be done to complete the project and alleviate the suffering of road users.

Our Appeal:

  1. We humbly request that the contractors handling the Benin-Warri Road be well-mobilized to enable them to deliver the project within the contract duration.
  2. We appeal to your Excellency to direct the contractors to open up sections of the road that have been completed to ease vehicular movement and transportation of goods.

Conclusion:

We sincerely appreciate your attention to this matter and hope that your prompt intervention will avert the continued loss of lives, damage to properties, and wastage of manhours. We look forward to your delivery on your campaign promises of improved infrastructure development.

Thank you, Mr. President.

Sincerely,

Comrade John Ebikeme Odubolu

Northern APC Forum Backs Kailani Muhammad as National Chairman

Northern APC Forum Backs Kailani Muhammad as National Chairman

The Northern APC Grassroots Advocacy and Mobilisation Forum has thrown its weight behind Professor Kailani Muhammad, urging the leadership of the All Progressives Congress (APC) to elect him as the party’s next National Chairman.

Speaking at a press conference, the group—which boasts membership across the 19 Northern states—described Professor Muhammad as a loyal party stalwart and a grassroots mobilizer with an unbroken history of commitment to the APC and its antecedents.

The Chairman of the Forum noted that Professor Muhammad was a pioneer member of the All People’s Party (APP), which later became the All Nigeria Peoples Party (ANPP), then merged into the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), and eventually formed part of the coalition that birthed the APC.

“He has never left the party or wavered in his commitment,” the Forum leader said. “Professor Kailani is the most experienced and capable among all aspirants for the chairmanship. He has proven his leadership capacity, especially as National Chairman of APC Support Groups during the 2023 elections, which played a critical role in delivering victory for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.”

Describing him as “result-oriented and deeply rooted at the grassroots,” the Forum emphasized that although Professor Muhammad has never held public office, he has built a broad network of loyal supporters and political allies across the 36 states of the federation.

“He has the will, capacity, and charisma to unite the party, galvanize support, and position APC for another victory in 2027,” the Forum asserted.

The group urged President Tinubu and the APC leadership to consider his emergence as National Chairman, stressing that his loyalty, long-standing service to the party, and ability to mobilize support nationwide make him the most qualified candidate for the position.

AIT Weekend Show: Faduri Oluwadare Speaks on 2027 Elections and the recent Selfish Coalition of politicians in ADC

AIT Weekend Show: Faduri Oluwadare Speaks on 2027 Elections and the recent Selfish Coalition of politicians in ADC

On Saturday, July 5, 2025, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph, a former Labour Party presidential aspirant and the founder of the Global Rescue Movement for New Nigeria, joined the AIT Weekend Show virtually.

The program, titled 2027 Election and Present Realities, was anchored by Andy Madaki and Tender Chemielu. The discussion revolved around the dynamics of the upcoming 2027 general elections, recent political coalition, and the mood of the Nigerian electorate.

Faduri Oluwadare began his remarks by commending the vibrant youth in the studio, particularly the National Youth Leader of the Labour Party, whom he applauded for presenting empirical facts during the discussion.

Addressing the recent coalition of politicians aligning with the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Faduri expressed strong reservations about the motives behind such political movements. He stated:

“When you look about the antecedents of people coming together to form coalition, they are not coming together because they care for Nigeria, they are not coming together because it’s now they realize we are in wrong path, these are people that we known well, that they were the people that brought Nigeria to the mess, where President Bola Tinubu picked it up and destroy it more. So if a man has a good principle and an ideology, he doesn’t need to sit with them, nor join them nor do things with them. I said a month ago that the 2027 election is going to be an election about the selfish politician and the people. Even when there is no good thing coming from the APC, we still have politicians defecting to the APC. They can defect as they want, the 2027 election will be decided by 200 million Nigerians, not those minorities playing politics up and down by defecting. Nigerians are aware of what’s going on in governance. Nigerians are now wiser; our people are going to the point of enough is enough. Their coalition is not going to work because I don’t think Nigerians are going to buy in. People joining the coalition in the first place have no clear ideology. People join Atiku Abubakar, El-Rufai and others, we know their antecedents. They don’t care about Nigerians; they are doing it because they are not in power and want to come back to power. What Nigerians need in 2027 is not ageing politicians who want to come back to governance, but genuine leaders who want to make our nation great again. So that’s where I’m having a problem with the coalition. And to see Peter Obi with them is very disappointing, but not that disappointing to me, because I know Peter Obi more than the people who are supporting him. Nigerians want a true change. Some people felt that they could see that change in him. I would have wanted Peter Obi to stay in the Labour Party, let us move the party together. But if he cannot do that, in running to the coalition, what will happen tomorrow, if the coalition also crashes, he will go and look for another political party. He allowed the Labour party to go into disarray with many factions, and nothing good is happening. What of the competence and capacity of the man Peter Obi claimed, I’m not sure Nigerians will follow him to ADC. This election is not going to be determined by these politicians, Nigerians will decide it.”

Faduri was also asked by Tender Chemielu to comment on the resignation of former APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, amid circulating claims that his exit was part of a broader political strategy to pave the way for NNPP’s Rabiu Kwankwaso to join the APC and secure a ticket. Reacting to the development, Faduri said it was purely driven by self-serving political interests:

> “It’s for their selfish political calculations,” he said, asserting that no matter how politically strong Rabiu Kwankwaso may appear, “the only calculation that will work in the forthcoming election is the calculation of Nigerians, not selfish and underperformed politicians.”
