Same Old Politicians in New Clothing: Nigerians, Do Not Be Deceived Again

It is laughable—and deeply insulting to our collective intelligence—that the same individuals who wrecked our country, destroyed our economy, collapsed our educational system, and chased away companies and jobs through reckless policies now parade themselves as agents of change.

These are the same architects of the “Emilokan” brand of governance—a slogan that birthed an era of arrogance, entitlement, and impunity—which President Bola Tinubu is merely continuing. Today, these same failed leaders have rebranded themselves overnight, claiming they want to “rescue” Nigeria. From what, if not the very destruction they orchestrated?

It is a tragedy that these old political figures—who once had power and opportunity to do right by Nigerians but instead enriched themselves—are now aligning for selfish interests under the pretense of national salvation. Their sudden “coalitions” are not built on vision or values, but on desperation and self-preservation.

As I have always said, the future of Nigeria will not be decided by defecting politicians or recycled coalitions. The next election belongs to:

The ordinary Nigerian who has suffered silently for too long.

The Nigerian youth, cheated and sidelined for decades.

The market women who have been used and discarded.

The Christian community praying for true change.

The Muslims yearning for justice, equity, and a functional nation.

The children of Nigeria who deserve a hopeful, secure future.

Let me be clear: those who cannot organize their own homes cannot organize a nation.

Is it Atiku Abubakar and his PDP camp that couldn’t resolve their internal crises?
Is it Peter Obi, who proved incapable of leading the Labour Party?
Is it Nasir El-Rufai, aggrieved over not getting a ministerial post, despite the pain he left behind in Kaduna State?
Is it Rauf Aregbesola, whose years in power—both as Governor and Minister—left no significant legacy?

These same people who contributed to the rot that Tinubu simply inherited and worsened now wish to “rescue” the very nation they helped destroy? Nigerians must not be fooled.

What we are witnessing is not a coalition for Nigeria, but a coalition of corruption, a coalition of greed, and a setup for yet another failed government in new clothing. It is the same old wine in a new bottle.

But there is hope.
The National Rescue Movement (NRM) and the Rescue Movement for New Nigeria are offering a new direction—a new generation of leaders with fresh ideas and clean hands. A new Nigeria is possible in 2027, but only if we, the people, reject recycled failures and embrace true change.

It is time to retire the old order.
2,000 corrupt politicians cannot dictate the destiny of 200 million Nigerians.
2027 is the year of the people’s decision.

Let us remember: Our vote is our power. These gangs of corrupt elites are stockpiling cash—not to build roads or improve lives—but to buy votes and destabilize democracy.

Let us stay alert. Let us guard our conscience. Let us unite.
We have one shot at rescuing our nation—and Rescue Movement is the credible and principled alternative.

May God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
May God bless you.
And may God bless me.

Uba Sani: Changing the Scope of Governance in Northern Nigeria

Uba Sani: Changing the Scope of Governance in Northern Nigeria

By Zaidu Zaidu

Purposeful leadership has long been the missing link in Northern Nigeria’s development journey. Despite its vast human and mineral resources, the region is often seen as a drawback in the country’s quest for sustainable progress. Simply put, many perceive Northern Nigeria as a burden, a region with little to offer. This perception might have been different if the region had continued to produce visionary leaders in the mould of the Sardauna and other great northern statesmen, who not only led with purpose but also united the people across all divides.

Today, however, a new wave of leadership is beginning to challenge this narrative. Senator Uba Sani stands out among a handful of emerging leaders who are redefining what it means to govern with vision, empathy, and results. Calm, calculative, and unassuming, the former Senator representing Kaduna Central has hardly put a foot wrong since he emerged as Governor of Kaduna State. He started by putting the people first and breaking free from the human factors that so often impede growth and development. This did not come easily, but who else would take such bold steps if not Uba Sani? If he could stand up to military juntas in the past, why would he now fear diminutive men in flowing agbadas?

Governor Uba Sani’s leadership style gives life to John C. Maxwell’s saying that “A leader is one who knows the way, goes the way, and shows the way.” Since assuming office, he has wasted no time translating his vision into action, and he is doing so without media frenzy or fanfare. Unlike his predecessor, who employed the tactic of divide and rule, Governor Uba Sani has been able to harmonise both the northern and southern parts of Kaduna State.

Before he came on board, Kaduna was a hotbed for bandits and terrorists, a place where, to borrow the words of Thomas Hobbes, life was “solitary, poor, nasty, brutish, and short.” But through dialogue and a non-kinetic approach, he has helped restore a measure of peace, especially in troubled axes like Birnin Gwari. While pockets of attacks still occur, the frequency has reduced significantly, showing that security is not only about force, but also about trust and community engagement.

In terms of infrastructure, Governor Uba Sani has made meaningful strides despite inheriting a huge debt running into hundreds of millions of dollars. Roads like the Kachia-Kafanchan link and rural feeder roads in Giwa and Soba have been rehabilitated, reconnecting communities and boosting local economies in ways that touch people’s daily lives.

When the time came to organise the North West Stakeholders Forum, many doubted it could hold without descending into chaos, especially considering how the North East Stakeholders Forum had gone. But Governor Uba Sani proved the doubters wrong by spearheading one of the most seamless and productive forums in recent times. His success mirrors the Igbo proverb that “When an elder is in the house, the she-goat does not suffer parturition on its tether.” Though Governor Uba Sani is still young, he has succeeded where some elders have failed.

When predictions of chaos at the North West Stakeholders Forum did not come to pass, critics shifted their doubts to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s visit to commission landmark projects like the rebuilt Sabon Gari Market. They said the President could not visit Kaduna without crisis, especially considering this is the state where his strongest and bitterest critic governed for eight years. Yet again, Uba Sani silenced them. Talk of a leader who knows his onions.

In the area of appointments, Governor Uba Sani has shown that he understands the time-tested Nigerian cliché that the youth are the leaders of tomorrow. His cabinet includes young, qualified professionals alongside experienced hands, with clear attention to gender balance.

In all this, one thing stands out: Governor Uba Sani’s quiet revolution in Kaduna is not just transforming a state, it is rewriting the story of Northern Nigeria. By proving that with vision, courage, and sincerity, purposeful governance is indeed possible, he reminds us that the North still has leaders who know the way, go the way, and show the way.

It is now up to the people to demand and support such leadership elsewhere, for only then can the North truly rediscover the greatness it once gave Nigeria and Africa.

Nigeria Needs A True Coalition: Say No To Desperate Old Politicians In New Clothing- FADOJOE

Nigeria Needs A True Coalition: Say No To Desperate Old Politicians In New Clothing

-By Faduri Oluwadare Joseph popularly known as Fadojoe.

My fellow Nigerians both home and abroad, our Nation Nigeria is at a breaking point. For so long, we have watched a handful of political elites destroying the future of this great nation through greed, selfishness, corruption, and a total lack of vision and ideology.

These are the same politicians who have looted our national resources, enriched themselves while our youth roam jobless, they turned Nigeria into a land of hardship, insecurity, oppression, and rising hopelessness.

But here they come again, wearing new clothes, a new party, singing old songs by defecting or forming a selfish coalition.

In recent times, some of these very politicians who have wrecked Nigeria’s economy and stolen our future, our wealth, our peace are now regrouping under different names and political platforms. They are forming coalitions under parties like the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Action Democratic Alliance (ADA), and Social Democratic Party (SDP).

Don’t let us be fooled. A thief in a new garment is still a thief. The tragedy will not be in their deception, but in how we accept them to deceive us again. We have been deceived for so long but we will not be deceived again in 2027.

These selfish politicians have brought Nigeria to her knees. They are trying to repackage themselves as “new forces” and “saviors” of democracy. But let’s be honest , it’s apparently clear from what we are experiencing in Nigeria, that they are the architects of our suffering. These recycled politicians are moving from party to party like migratory birds, not to build Nigeria, but to preserve their access to power on how to loot our resources once again.

Their coalition is not for the good of the people, but for their desperate alliance to keep control of a broken system they created to cover their crimes. Some of them are old enough to be a great, great grand father but they want to die in Aso Rock. Retirement age is 60 or 65 in any nation but when you see a 65 years old and above fighting for job again you wonder what they are looking for. Nigerians must ask them in 2027 what they are looking for in Aso Rock?

Enough is enough. We must not allow it. The greatest mistake Nigerians can make in the coming general elections is to fall for this dangerous trap: accepting political defectors and nation destroyers, simply because they are now under a new party umbrella. Doing so will not only destroy the next four years, but it may also destroy the future of this nation for generations to come.

We cannot afford it. It’s time for Nigerians, especially the youths, the workers, the market women, the artisans, and the oppressed, the ordinary Nigerians to open their eyes. The power belongs to the people, not these politicians who have failed our nation for so long. The masses are not just voters; they are the real deciders of this nation’s future.

What we need now is not another group of old selfish, greedy men forming alliances of personal survival. What Nigeria truly needs is a genuine people’s party coalition, younger generation of leaders, a party that will unite the country, party structures across the country, mobilize fresh minds with clear visions, and present candidates with integrity, compassion, and patriotism with a heart of service.

My fellow Nigerians, let us come together. Let us take over party platforms from the grassroots. Let us identify young, honest, and competent Nigerians and push them forward. Let us make our votes count, not for money, not for tribe, not for religion, but for a better and greater Nigeria. Which we can all be proud of.

The time of sitting on the sidelines is over. The oppressed must become the organizers. We must get involved in politics. We must defend our democracy, not with violence but with wisdom, unity, and conviction and power to vote. New-blood leadership in politics is not a luxury, it is a necessity we need that will alleviate our suffering, foster development, increase the employment rate, bring more empowerment, increase our agricultural productivity, ameliorate corruption, secure people’s lives and properties .

The oppressors are united. Why are the oppressed divided? I say to all Nigerians again listen the Oppresors are united, why are the oppressed Nigerians divided?

Let this be an urgent warning to all Nigerians both home and abroad: If we allow the same failed political actors to hijack new party structures under ADC, ADA, SDP, and others, then we are signing off on our own suffering for even our unborn generations to come.

Enough is enough for a nation I called “A country that Has Everything But lacks Everything”.
Enough is enough

The time to act is now. Not tomorrow. Not in 2027. Now!

Let us rise as one. Let us build a true coalition of purpose, not power. Let us rescue Nigeria. Nigeria can rise again, but only if the people rise first.
It is time to Rescue our nation.
Yes we can
Yes we can
Yes we can
And Yes we will

NRM OFFICIAL CALLS ON FORMER LABOUR PARTY PRESIDENT ASPIRANT TO JOIN THE PARTY AHEAD OF 2027

NRM OFFICIAL CALLS ON FORMER LABOUR PARTY PRESIDENT ASPIRANT TO JOIN THE PARTY AHEAD OF 2027

Rev. Emmanuel Olorunmagba, the National Financial Secretary of National Rescue Movement (NRM) has called on a former presidential aspirant under Labour Party, His Excellency Faduri Oluwadare Joseph popularly known as Fadojoe, to join the party NRM ahead of the 2027 presidential election as Labour Party is not getting their radar.

This is contained in a statement made available to Pressmen by the clergyman, who notes that “2027 is by the corner and this is the best time to align with a party like National Rescue Movement whose major agenda is to rescue Nigeria from the sit-tight old generation politicians that have destroyed everything in Nigeria that turned the country to a nation that God highly endowed with everything, but that the citizens lack everything.

“Considering how His Excellency Fadojoe worked assiduously in building Labour Party with his team since he joined yet he was denied the ticket when His Excellency Peter Obi later joined LP; now our political party, National Rescue Movement (NRM), will be a better platform for him for the actualization of his political ambition.

“Nigerians so much need younger presidential candidate with the vision to rescue Nigeria and a political platform with the vision to rescue the country. And with the confusion in the political atmosphere in Nigeria where Nigerians are tired of APC, and PDP being an appendage of APC which old politicians from the two parties are again thinking of a new party (ADA) just like they did ahead of 2015 elections where the same group of people came together to form APC to grab power without vision and pushed Nigeria into this deep gulf and the country keep sinking.

“In the light of the above, I call on His Excellency Faduri Oluwadare Joseph popularly known as Fadojoe, to come onboard our political party NRM in preparation for 2027”.

THE BLUE PLANET: War or Peace?ByInuwa Waya

THE BLUE PLANET: War or Peace?
By
Inuwa Waya
During the 20th Century, human life lost its value as a result of the barbarism that accompanied the first and the second World wars. The war machines invented for the protection of mankind were ruthlessly unleashed against the human race. The inability of the League of Nations to prevent the appalling crimes led to the emergence of the United Nations at the end of the second World war in 1945. Since than, the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) has been working to enforce international peace and security without success. On the 13th June, 2025, Israel began a massive military operation against Iran. The operation according to the Jewish state was aimed at degrading the ability of the Iranian State to develop nuclear weapons. The Israel claim that Iran is developing nuclear weapons was refuted by Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency ( IAEA). The Iranian nuclear programme according to Tehran is for civilian purposes. Under Operation True Promise, Iran rains down missiles and drones against Israel’s critical military targets. Since than, Iran and Israel has been trading air attacks. The international community is helplessly watching . Donald Trump, a long time ally of Benjamin Netanyahu had stated that the United States of America will decide whether to join Israel in attacking Iran within the next two weeks. The American President had taken this latitude to allow diplomacy to work and to also convince his make America great again (MAGA) movement to agree for the Americans to take part in the fight. A window of international diplomacy was opened with the Iranian foreign Minister Abbas Agharachi having his first meeting with the European Union delegation led by the foreign ministers of France, Britain, Germany and the EU foreign policy chief. During the meeting which was held in Geneva, the Swiss Capital, Iran reiterated it’s position that the Country can not negotiate their civilian nuclear programme while Israel’s aggression against their nation is ongoing. The stakes are high and the atmosphere is palpable. America and the European Union are supporting Israel in its aggression against Iran. Even without participating in combat operation, the Americans are already helping Israel with Iron Dome, Arrow and David’s sling to defend itself against the Iranian drones and missiles. China, Russia and other Countries from the global South faulted Israel for what they regarded as a unilateral and unprovoked aggression against a member of the United Nations. According to them, such action is against the International Law and Order. The same position was taken by the Muslim Countries under the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC). If Israel refuse to stop the attack, and the Americans decided to join the fight at the expiration of the two weeks period, the situation will deteriorate further and even become more complicated. Iran had already warned the United States not to participate in the conflict. The Islamic Republic also sent messages across to all the Countries in the region where America has its military bases not to allow their territory to be a launching pad by the Americans. In simple terms, Iran is sending signal that if America join the fight, all the American military bases in Qatar, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Iraq, are legitimate targets for the Iranian Armed forces. That also means the Iranian allies ( both state and non state actors) in the region would assist Iran in this regard. The Houthis in Yemen,Hamas in Gaza, Hesbollah in Lebanon and the Iraq Shia militia are all affiliated to Iran. The Strait of Hormuz is within easy reach for Iran and the Houthis. Under pressure, both of them can block that shipping route. That will impact negatively on International Shipping and would block 20% of the World crude oil supply. The global economy will definitely be affected. Before we move out of the Middle East, we should note that Israel is already fighting with Hesbollah, Houthis and Hamas. In Gaza alone, nearly 56,000 people were killed by Israel. In Syria, Israel’s rain of missiles are dropping on daily basis ostensibly to protect the Druze tribe. The Jewish state had also made incursion into the Syrian territory and established a military base around the Golan Heights. Elsewhere in Europe, the war between Russia and Ukraine has become protracted. The conflict is adversely affecting the World economy. To stop the war, Russia insisted that Ukraine must recognise the newly redesign borders and abandon their desire to join NATO. Ukraine and its main supporters the EU, refused to accept those conditions. The war is still going on. There are other worrisome conflicts that are equally threatening World peace in Africa, Asia and Latin America.
As mentioned earlier, UNSC is finding it difficult to enforce peace and security at the global stage. The five permanent members are polarised along unipolar and multipolar beliefs. The undemocratic nature of the veto power neutralises any position the non permanent members would take.
Be that as it may and whether America decide to join Israel in its war with Iran or not, the World is in a delicate balance. If the World powers want a better and safer World as they always say, they must collectively match words with actions. International Law and Order must be respected by all Countries irrespective of their military or economic power. The United Nations, especially its Security Council, must be reformed to make it more democratic as regards to the exercise of veto power. These two are sine qua non for peace and security to flourish in our mother earth.
