Group Slams Senator Lawal Adamu Over “Cheap Political Distractions” Against Gov. Uba Sani

A Kaduna-based political pressure group, Capacity Movement of Kaduna State, has berated Senator Lawal Adamu, popularly known as Mr. LA, over what it described as “cheap publicity stunts and political distractions” targeted at the Governor of Kaduna State, Senator Uba Sani.

In a statement issued to journalists in Kaduna and signed by its Convener, Shehu Sani Sado, the group accused Senator Adamu of engaging in unnecessary attacks on the governor in a desperate bid to “regain public sympathy” after what it described as his failure to make meaningful impact at the National Assembly.

“The public is not even aware of any tangible thing Senator Lawal Adamu has done since he got to the Senate. His recent outbursts are nothing but lazy man’s distractions aimed at cheap popularity,” the statement read.

The group further alleged that the senator, who was elected on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), is already making moves to return to the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“All his actions are politically motivated. After PDP gave him the ticket that made him senator, he now wants to run back to APC. Instead of focusing on his mandate at the Senate, he is busy trying to distract the governor, who is working tirelessly for the people of Kaduna State,” it added.

The Capacity Movement warned Senator Adamu to desist from what it called “baseless attacks” on the state government, insisting that Governor Uba Sani should not be distracted from his development agenda.

“Governor Uba Sani should not waste his time on a failed lawmaker like Mr. LA. He has nothing to contribute to the progress of Kaduna State and should not be allowed to derail the ongoing reforms,” the group declared.

Kaduna By-election: Women Group Describes Senator Lawan as Failure, Liar, Bench Warmer

Kaduna By-election: Women Group Describes Senator Lawan as Failure, Liar, Bench Warmer

The Kaduna Central Women Forum (KACEWOF) has taken a swipe at former Senate President, Senator Ahmad Lawan, describing him as a “failure, liar, and bench warmer” in the National Assembly.

The criticism comes in the wake of a petition reportedly filed by Senator Lawal Adamu of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) at the International Criminal Court (ICC). The petition accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of unlawfully arresting and detaining the PDP candidate in the August 16 by-election, allegedly at the behest of Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani.

In a statement issued Tuesday , the group faulted Lawan for questioning the integrity of a process it described as “free, fair, and credible.” It insisted that despite holding top positions in the Senate, Lawan’s tenure brought little or no tangible benefit to Nigerians.

Signed by the group’sCoordinator , Hajiya Binta Garba the statement accused Lawan of neglecting his legislative responsibilities, failing to sponsor people-oriented bills, and prioritizing personal interests over national progress.

The forum declared:
“Senator Lawan has consistently deceived the people with empty rhetoric. He has failed in his duties, lied to his constituents, and reduced himself to a bench warmer in the Senate. The time has come for Nigerians to demand accountability from leaders who have overstayed their relevance in our democracy.”

KACEWOF further urged Nigerians to hold leaders accountable, stressing that democratic progress can only thrive when performance, not longevity in office, determines the relevance of public officials.

GROUP BLASTS DEJI ADEYANJU OVER ATTACK ON ZULUM, HAIL GOVERNOR’S ACHIEVEMENTS

GROUP BLASTS DEJI ADEYANJU OVER ATTACK ON ZULUM, HAIL GOVERNOR’S ACHIEVEMENTS

A northern youth group under the umbrella of Arewa Youth for Progress and Development (AYPD) has taken a swipe at Abuja-based political activist, Deji Adeyanju, over his recent criticism of Borno State Governor, Professor Babagana Umara Zulum.

Adeyanju had in a Facebook post accused the governor of deceiving Nigerians at the onset of his administration with “fake propaganda,” describing him as “a complete disaster as governor” and alleging that he has “a love for tyranny and jailing critics.” He further suggested that Zulum might attempt to “repackage himself after 2027 and try to become another Nigerian messiah.”

Reacting in a statement signed by Abubakar made available to journalists in Maiduguri, the AYPD described Adeyanju’s comments as “reckless, baseless, and a direct insult to the people of Borno State.”

“To call a performing governor, widely respected across the North as a symbol of people-centered leadership, a disaster is nothing but the highest form of insult to our people. It is unacceptable and will not be tolerated,” the group declared.

The group highlighted what it described as Zulum’s “unmatched achievements” in governance, citing his efforts in rebuilding communities ravaged by insurgency, expanding access to quality education, healthcare delivery, infrastructural development, and programs targeted at poverty alleviation.

According to AYPD, since assuming office in 2019, Zulum has supervised the construction of schools, hospitals, housing units, and roads across both urban and rural areas of Borno State, often leading from the front by personally monitoring projects and humanitarian interventions.

“Governor Zulum has never fooled anyone or paraded himself as a messiah. We know him as a leader who has deep passion for the emancipation of his people from poverty, insecurity, and underdevelopment. His style of leadership is humility, service, and sacrifice,” the statement noted.

The youths warned Adeyanju against what they called “cheap political blackmail” and issued him a seven-day ultimatum to retract his comments and tender a public apology to Governor Zulum and the people of Borno State.

“Failure to do so will attract massive resistance from northern youths, as we cannot allow baseless attacks on leaders who are genuinely working for the progress of our people,” AYPD warned.

They urged Nigerians to “see through the antics of professional critics” and focus on encouraging leaders who are working under difficult circumstances, particularly in states like Borno that have faced years of insurgency.

“From Birnin Kebbi to Madinah: How Kebbi Set the Gold Standard in Hajj Operations”

The Northwest Progressives Forum (NPF) has declared Kebbi State a national model in Hajj administration, praising Governor Nasir Idris and Alhaji Faruk Enabo, Chairman of the State Pilgrims Welfare Agency for their transformative leadership and commitment to pilgrims’ welfare.

Following Kebbi’s exceptional performance during the 2024 and 2025 Hajj exercises—where the state earned eight awards from Saudi authorities—the NPF described the operations as “a masterclass in religious service delivery.” These accolades recognized Kebbi’s outstanding arrangements in areas such as sacrificial animal logistics (Hadaya), feeding, accommodation, transportation, and airport screening.

*Leadership Rooted in Empathy and Action*

Governor Idris’s personal involvement in the pilgrimage and his financial support to all 3,871 pilgrims in the 2025 Hajj exercise like in the previous, drew admiration from the Forum. Speaking recently, the governor pledged;

> “We will continue to render the needed support to our Pilgrims Welfare Agency and NAHCON in this direction and we will never relent”.

*Operational Excellence Under Alhaji Faruk Enabo*

Alhaji Faruk Enabo, Chairman of the Pilgrims Welfare Agency, was credited with orchestrating Kebbi’s seamless Hajj logistics. He emphasized that Governor Idris’s unwavering backing was the cornerstone of their success:

> “The unwavering support of Gov. Idris to the agency had culminated not only in the tremendous success of the Hajj operations in the state but the state stood tall amongst its peers”.

NPF’s Endorsement

In its official statement, the Northwest Progressives Forum declared:

> “Kebbi State has set a new benchmark for Hajj administration in Nigeria. Governor Nasir Idris and Alhaji Faruk Enabo have demonstrated that with vision, empathy, and accountability, even the most complex religious operations can be executed with excellence.”

 *A Blueprint for the Nation*

The Forum urged other states to emulate Kebbi’s model, especially in areas of early planning, financial transparency, and direct engagement with pilgrims. With the 2025 Hajj season on the horizon, Kebbi’s example stands as a beacon of what’s possible when leadership meets purpose.

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics Issues 21-Day Ultimatum to Federal Government

Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics Issues 21-Day Ultimatum to Federal Government

Kaduna, Nigeria – The Academic Staff Union of Polytechnics (ASUP), Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter, held a press briefing today to address pressing issues affecting polytechnics and to outline specific challenges faced by their institution. The briefing was led by Engr. Abubakar J. Abdullahi, Chairman of the Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter, who emphasized the need for immediate action from the Federal Government.

During the briefing, Abdullahi highlighted several key concerns that have arisen following the resolutions passed at the ASUP National Executive Council meeting held in Abuja on August 14, 2025. Among the issues raised were:1. Peculiar Academic Allowance (PAA): The National Salaries, Incomes and Wages Commission (NSIWC) has yet to release a crucial circular, jeopardizing the continuation of this allowance, which is a part of the ASUP/FGN 2010 agreement. 2. Arrears of Salary Review: Despite budget allocations, the Federal Government has not released funds for the 25/35% salary review, leaving many state institutions, including those in Kaduna, without implementation. 3. Discrimination Against HND Holders: The ongoing delay in approving the dual mandate policy is seen as a reinforcement of discrimination against Higher National Diploma (HND) holders, undermining the value of polytechnic graduates. 4. NEEDS Assessment Intervention: The second phase of this intervention has been indefinitely delayed, directly impacting the infrastructure and teaching facilities at Kaduna Polytechnic. 5. Promotion Arrears: Many staff members are owed promotion arrears dating back several years, with irregular implementation of promotions leading to dissatisfaction. 6. Renegotiation of the 2010 Agreement: The Federal Government has failed to reconstitute the necessary committee to renegotiate the long-overdue ASUP/FGN 2010 agreement. 7. HND/BSc Dichotomy: Despite various bills passed by the National Assembly, discrimination against HND holders continues, adversely affecting their career prospects. 8. Creation of National Polytechnic Commission (NPC): Abdullahi stressed the urgent need for a National Polytechnic Commission to enhance the performance and advancement of the Polytechnic System. 9. NHF Deductions: There have been issues concerning the non-remittance of National Housing Fund (NHF) deductions from members’ salaries during the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) era.

In addition to these national issues, local concerns were also raised, including delays in promotion matters, the need for improved welfare conditions, infrastructural development, and the provision of necessary office furniture and accommodations for staff.

In a decisive move, ASUP, Kaduna Polytechnic Chapter, has issued a 21-day ultimatum to the Federal Government and the institution’s management to address these concerns. Abdullahi warned that failure to act would result in a nationwide industrial action, including a total withdrawal of services by union members.

The press briefing concluded with a call for unity among members and a commitment to advocating for their rights and welfare.

Breaking: Group Decries Politicisation of Public Servants’ Legacies

Breaking: Group Decries Politicisation of Public Servants’ Legacies

A support group under the aegis of Kyari Likeminds has expressed concern over what it described as the “growing culture of politicising the legacies of dedicated public servants,” following reports linking former Group Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Mele Kyari, to allegations of financial impropriety.

In a statement signed by the groups Director of Publicity, Abdullahi Sabiu and made available to journalists on Wedneday evening, the group cautioned against what it called the “trial of reputations in the court of public opinion,” stressing that no amount of political maneuvering should be allowed to diminish Kyari’s record of service to the nation.

According to the group, it has become a disturbing trend in Nigeria for politicians to target technocrats and senior civil servants after their exit from office, weaponising media narratives to undermine their legacies.

“Mele Kyari gave his best years to the service of this country, steering the oil and gas sector through some of its toughest moments. His reforms, transparency drive, and push for energy security remain undeniable. To now see his name repeatedly dragged into political battles is both unfair and unfortunate,” the statement read in part.

The group also took a swipe at sections of the media, accusing them of gullibility and sensationalism. It argued that in the rush to publish breaking headlines, many outlets often lend themselves to political propaganda without waiting for facts to be tested or cases concluded in competent courts.

“Media houses must rise above being conduits of half-truths and politically motivated leaks. Responsible journalism demands context, balance, and restraint, particularly when the reputations of individuals who have served the nation at the highest levels are at stake,” the group added.

While noting that it would refrain from making comments on matters already before the courts, Kyari Likeminds maintained that the current wave of attacks fits into a larger pattern of attempts to demonise technocrats who refuse to play along with entrenched political interests.

The statement urged Nigerians to distinguish between genuine accountability processes and politically inspired campaigns of calumny, adding that posterity would ultimately judge public servants like Mele Kyari by their contributions, not by “the noise of the moment.”

Ex-Councilors Laud Minister Idris Over APC’s Victory in Bye-Elections

Ex-Councilors Laud Minister Idris Over APC’s Victory in Bye-Elections

Kaduna – The National Forum of Ex-Councilors of Nigeria has commended the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Alhaji Mohammed Idris, for the role he played in ensuring the All Progressives Congress (APC) recorded a landslide victory in the August 16, 2025 bye-elections across 14 states of the federation.

Addressing journalists in Kaduna, the Forum’s National President, Ambassador Hon. Auwal Hassan Kassim, said the success of the APC at the polls reflected the grassroots mobilization capacity of the minister and his coordination with other ministers from Northern Nigeria.

According to Kassim, the recently concluded summit held at Arewa House, Kaduna, where all Northern appointees of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu showcased their scorecards, was a turning point in convincing electorates across the North that the administration remains inclusive and responsive.

“The scorecards of the appointees went the extra mile in demonstrating that the Tinubu administration is not sidelining the North in the affairs of Nigeria,” he said.

Kassim further stressed that the APC’s performance in the North was proof that the alleged coalition against President Tinubu ahead of 2027 was nothing more than a “dead-on-arrival project.”

He also disclosed that the Forum would soon embark on a nationwide visit to political leaders to mobilize greater support for Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.

Is it a bye-election or a buy-election? I cry for Nigeria – Fadojoe

Is it a bye-election or a buy-election? I cry for Nigeria – Fadojoe

Faduri Oluwadare Joseph popularly called Fadojoe isn’t hiding his disappointment. The former Labour Party presidential aspirant and founder of Rescue Movement for New Nigeria poured out his heart in a video after the recent bye-elections held on Saturday, August 16, across 12 states in Nigeria.

Over 3.5 million registered voters, spread across 32 LGAs, 356 Registration Areas, and 6,987 polling units, were expected to vote for new lawmakers into the State Houses of Assembly, House of Representatives, and Senate. But instead of hope, what Faduri saw broke his heart.

“My fellow Nigerians, I cry for my country. We say we want change, yet we keep selling our future for ₦1,000, ₦2,000, ₦5,000,” he said in the video.

He didn’t hold back. According to him, Nigerians still complain about bad leadership, corruption, and suffering, yet, many willingly sold their votes to the same politicians causing the problems. He said these politicians no longer bother to campaign or convince voters. Instead, they just showed up on election day with bags of stolen money and started sharing it.

“You collect money from them today, and tomorrow they use the same power you gave them to keep you in hardship,” he said.

He called it a national shame that, even with all we face, Nigerians still collect money to vote. He reminded us that no country in the world has ever developed when its people are part of the corruption. Politicians know many voters are for sale, and that’s why they keep exploiting the system.

“We’re all guilty,” he said. “When you take that money, you’ve collected your share of the stolen national cake and you’ve sold your right to demand for better.”

Faduri Oluwadare Joseph said the bye-election was a big chance for Nigerians to speak out and make a real change, especially by electing lawmakers who can check the excesses of the executive and the judiciary, who can stand up for the people, and bring balance to the system. Instead, the opportunity was wasted.

He also called out the youths. According to him, most young Nigerians only make noise on social media but don’t show up to vote.

“We want reform, we want change, but we stay at home while others, most times uneducated and easily manipulated, go out and sell their votes.”

Faduri urged all Nigerians to wake up. He said that if we want to fight hardship, corruption, insecurity, and lawlessness, it starts with our votes. Every election matters, not just the presidential one.

“We must rescue Nigeria. We must build a country we can be proud of. That rescue starts with the people. Stop selling your vote. Stand up and vote. That’s the only way forward.”

BREAKING: DSS Smashes PDP’s ₦30m Vote-Buying Plot, Arrests Agent in Kaduna

BREAKING: DSS Smashes PDP’s ₦30m Vote-Buying Plot, Arrests Agent in Kaduna

The Department of State Services (DSS) has yesterday night struck a major blow against electoral malpractice in Kaduna, arresting a People’s Democratic Party (PDP) agent, Shehu Fatange, with a staggering cash of about ₦30 million allegedly set aside to buy votes in today’s bye-elections.

Fatange was apprehended Friday evening at a hotel in Kaduna metropolis, where he was coordinating the illicit distribution of funds to sway voters in the Chikun/Kajuru Federal Constituency poll.

According to impeccable security sources, the suspect was caught red-handed with the money, which investigators believe was meant to compromise the integrity of the elections and tilt the outcome in favour of his party.

The Kaduna State Police Command confirmed the arrest. Its spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, said the suspect was in custody and under investigation, stressing that security agencies were working hand-in-hand to ensure a free, fair and credible election.

The dramatic bust comes against a backdrop of rising tension, with parties trading accusations of desperate politicians’ planned vote-buying, thuggery to rig the bye-elections in Chikun/Kajuru, Zaria and Sabon-Gari constituencies.

While details of the sting remain under wraps, the DSS and police assured that investigations are ongoing, urging voters to stay calm and troop out peacefully to exercise their franchise today.
