Group commends Ribadu, other security agencies for tackling security challenges, stabilising country

Apparently elated over the proactive measures taken recently to rescue kidnapped victims , the Coalition for Peace and National Unity said it is left with no option than to commend the National Security Adviser , Mal.Nuhu Ribadu and other security agencies for tackling security challenges and stabilising the country.

According to group, the recent release of hostages kidnapped by bandits the hard work and tirelessly efforts to ensure the release of the school pupils and other kidnapped victims rescued within good time is a great feat worthy commendation.

“We are beginning to see that the Security Situation is gradually improving in northern Nigeria compared to what used to be obtainable in the past when daredevil Boko Haram insurgents and bandits had field day operating unhindered , especially in the north.” The group stated.

The Coalition for Peace and National Unity, which made the commendations in a press statement signed by the Secretary General of the group,Dr. Abdullahi Musa Ringim, said, “We are highly impressed for rescue of the 15 Tsangaya students kidnapped at a Qur’anic school in Sokoto State ,who regained their freedom; the rescued students of the Federal University Gusau from terrorists that invaded the students off campus accommodation and the rescue of 137 Kuriga pupils abducted more than three weeks ago from their school in Kaduna. It is great feat worthy of commendation. “

It also appauladed the military operations that led to the killing of most notorious bandits leaders in Zamfara and Katsina States and scores of their fighters .

The group said though there still works to do on issues of insecurity challenges, especially in the north, the proactive measures taken recently has yield positive results with hope that the fight against banditry and Boko Haram insurgents will soon be history.

While urging the office of NSA and security agencies to adopt strategic proactive measures to fight against all forms of criminalities across the country, especially banditry and Insurgency, it posited,”At this juncture, and from our comparative analysis as well as records obtained by our research unit,we are left with no option than to commend Federal government for efforts taken so far to tackle prolonged security challenges in country with the last eight months of Tinubu’s administration”.

According to the group, survey carried out recently did reveal that the security situation has tremendously improved in northern Nigeria compared to what used to be obtained in the past during the days President Goodluck Jonathan and President Muhammadu Buhari .

“Buhari made a number of promises to address Nigeria’s chronic security problems, But failed to effectively address them. Bandits attacked military locations, kidnapped hundreds of school students and abducted travellers. They even bombed a train and abducted passengers.

” The bandit groups existed across the north-west region and Niger State. These groups were economically driven. When they are not kidnapping for ransom, they exploit the lack of state presence to impose taxes and protection levies on rural communities.

“But noted that across the 19 Northerns according to research conducted by the group, in states like Kaduna; Sokoto , Zamfara, Katsina, the nefarious activities and attacks by bandits must be contained without any consideration.

“It is no longer new that as a country ,we have witnessed unprecedented security challenges such as : Boko Haram Terrorists attacks, militancy, armed robbery, banditry, kidnapping for ransom, Fulani-Herders farmers clashes, cultism among other social vices, but now that federal government has sense of commitment to ensuring that Nigerians can go to bed with their two eyes closed, we should the government to succeed . “

Labour Party Has Become A House  Divided Against Itself -Fadojoe ,Fmr  LP Presidential Aspirant

Labour Party Has Become A House  Divided Against Itself -Fadojoe ,Fmr  LP Presidential Aspirant

Apparently worried about the crisis rocking the Labour Party, a Former Presidential Aspirant of the Party ,Mr. Faduri Oluwadare Joseph Also Known As Fadojoe said it is clear that the Labour Party has become a house divided against itself.

According to him, If the crisis within labour Party continues unresolved, the party will definitely be destroyed.

Speaking during a world press Conference held at United States of America via Zoom, the Former Presidential Aspirant, Fadojoe, who described Labour Party as the only alternative party Nigerians are looking up to, queried the inability of Peter Obi to resolve the crisis rocking the party.

He stated further, “The first question I asked myself and wants Nigerians to ask themselves is “where is Mr competent and capable? Where is the man who told the World he is competent to run a country and yet a party under him is in total shambles, but he could not handle it. Where is the man that calls himself Mr Fix-it that he can fix the country’s problem yet can’t fix the problem mainly and majorly created by him and his cohorts in the party. Let’s be clear to ourselves.

“This shows that Mr Peter Obi’s incompetency is more pronounced at this stage, that he cannot even reconcile all parties; bring all parties to a round table and broker peace.”

While expressing displeasure over the crisis, he explained how he kicked started mobilisation for Labour Party that later because a third force and alternative for real change ahead of the 2023 general election.

However, he said Mr Peter Obi got the ticket  to run for Nigerian President after his exit from PDP few days to end of primaries then.

Speaking further ,he added ,”Yet the same man claimed he can bring peace to a nation of diverse culture, people and tribes. If Mr Peter Obi cannot lead a party successfully, how then can he lead Nigeria as a nation successfully? If Mr Peter watches as LP gets destroyed everyday, then one may want to believe that he has failed as a leader and not competent or have the capacity to run a nation of over 250 ethics diversities.

“I know for sure that his followers with blind interests would argue otherwise. Mr Peter Obi himself started this chaos by nominating a corrupt DG in person of Dr Doyin Okupe, who had to drop off after been indicted to pay back N400 million stolen money from Nigeria.

“At this junction it is time to say enough is enough. These leaders, if they can’t sit and find a common ground and if Peter Obi cannot broker peace between all these worrying parties, they should leave the Party and let us the younger generation pick up the pieces and put it together for the betterment of our country and our nation. I am glad that finally the NLC which is the parent body of LP has since risen to her responsibility of not allowing Abure and the gang of other factions to destroy the only party Nigerians are looking up to for hope, for recovery and for viable alternative.

“But much more than that I am calling on everyone involved in this party especially all the Stakeholders, that if they care about this nation and care about Nigerians, not just their personal and selfish interests they should drop their hatchets and sue for peaceful resolution. They should stop all these disturbing issues we have been parading in public for over a year now and let us put this house in order.”

Rescue Movement Commends Creation of State Police But Advises FG to Checkmate Governors Excesses.

The Rescue Movement For New Nigeria aka Rescue The Vulnerable Initiative has commended the plan by the Federal Government of Nigeria to create State Police to tackle insecurity. Describing it as long overdue, the group advises the Federal Government to ensure policies that will checkmate state Governors to avoid the situation where State Police will be turned to witch-hunting tools against perceived opponents.

In a statement issued and made available to pressmen by the Rescue Movement National Director, Media and Publicity; Rev Emmanuel Olorunmagba; the group observed that “we have been witnessing the situations in this country where politicians use every power within their reach to persecute and witch-hunt those regarded as opponents especially state governors, hence if proper policies are not implemented to checkmate excesses, obviously some governors will turn the state police against some people in their state instead of against bandits that are terrorizing the people, thus making it counterproductive.

“The issue of insecurity in Nigeria requires every possible approach to tackle, but such approach should not be an opportunity to turn state power against innocent citizens”, he concludes
