Transparency Group Wants Ex Custom Boss ,Hamid Ali Prosecuted over N62 billion Unremitted Funds

Transparency Group Wants Ex Custom Boss ,Hamid Ali Prosecuted over N62 billion Unremitted Funds

The Transparency and Budget Monitoring Group (TBMG) is calling for an investigation into the alleged unremitted N62 billion funds  by the Nigeria Customs Service during Hameed Ali’s tenure as Comptroller-General.

The group, which called for immediate arrest and protection of Hamid Ali,said all public funds looted by anyone past leaders must be recovered .

The Senate Public Account Committee has given the current Customs boss, Bashir Adewale Adeniyi, a two-week ultimatum to defend against the accusation.

The TBMG in a statement signed by the Coordinator,Mr Garba Muhammad Gusau,  urged  the Senate to investigate the outstanding debts and financial discrepancies, ensuring transparency and accountability within the Nigerian Customs Service.

The controversy surrounds the discrepancy between the NCS’s reported total collection of N691 billion for the federation account and the actual remittance of N629 billion into the account with the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) .

Hameed Ali had appeared before the Senate Committee on Public Accounts to respond to queries in an auditor-general’s report but allegedly didn’t remit the funds before leaving office.

The group however  suggested that Hameed Ali be investigated and prosecuted immediately.

Disregard Elrufai, Ex commissioners falsehoods about Kaduna’s revenues

Disregard Elrufai, Ex commissioners falsehoods about Kaduna’s revenues

The Kaduna Good Governance Forum (KGGF) is calling out former Governor Nasir El-Rufai and his Commissioners for spreading falsehoods about Kaduna’s revenue generation.

El-Rufai claimed that the state’s internally generated revenue (IGR) decreased from N7 billion to N2 billion monthly under Governor Uba Sani’s administration.

However, the KGGF in Statement signed by the Secretary, Comrade Tijanni Usman presented records showing that Kaduna State generated ₦62.41 billion in 2023, with the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) contributing 77.1% (₦48.13 billion). In 2024, the IGR increased by 12.5% to ₦70.22 billion, with KADIRS contributing 73.8% (₦51.87 billion) of the total revenue.

The forum attributed the improvement to Governor Uba Sani’s prioritization of robust revenue sector reforms, including the introduction of an electronic portal for revenue collection. This has helped surpass the best years under El-Rufai’s administration.

“The available records reveal that between January and February 2025 alone, ₦14.16 billion was collected proving that revenue mobilization under Uba Sani is not only stable, but growing.

“It’s worth noting that Governor Uba Sani’s administration has been recognized for its efforts in revenue generation.”it stated .

According to the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS), Kaduna State was ranked as the leading revenue-generating state in Northern Nigeria in 2023, with an impressive N62.48 billion in IGR .

We make bold to say the allegations of secret N100 million withdrawals from the IGR account is nothing short of another falsehood peddled by a drowning man.

El-Rufai and his cohorts in bid to pull down Governor Uba Sani have resorted deliberate attempt to sponsor falsehood and paint a gloomy picture about the good efforts of his predecessor, who is working tirelessly to reverse all his bad deeds while in office .

Corruption Scandal: Northern Group Demands  Arrest of Dalung over $135,000 IAAF Misappropriated Funds cleared by Fmr. Sports Minister, Dare

Corruption Scandal: Northern Group Demands  Arrest of Dalung over $135,000 IAAF Misappropriated Funds cleared by Fmr. Sports Minister, Dare

…Such characters Don’t Moral right to Attack Tinubu

Arewa Progressives Elders Forum(APEF) took a swipe at  the Former Youths and Sports Minister, Barrister Solomon Dalung for failing to settle the overpayment of 135 thousand Dollars made to the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) during his days as Minister.

According to the Forum, the failure to pay the funds erroneously credited into account of Athletics Federation of Nigeria,no doubt dented the country’s image .

The IAAF in 2017 erroneously sent $150,000 to the AFN instead of the annual $15,000 it usually gives to its affiliates. And subsequently on May 13, 2018 wrote to AFN asking for a refund when it discovered that the whereabouts of the excess could not be traced.

However, the then Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung who acknowledged receipt of the funds failed to refund until he left office in 2019 .

In a press statement made available to journalists in Kaduna today, the Forum described Dalung as a “Political Misfit” who brought shame to his country.

The statement signed by the Chairman Mal. Mustapha Jalingo, said, ” It’s unfortunate that same Dalung that damage Nigeria’s reputation with such despicable financial scandal could come out to accuse Tinubu of making a historic mistake by worsening economic hardship in the North.”

While stating that the likes of Dalung should be languishing in prison for misappropriating public funds and act of  corruption, the Elders Forum noted,”He who must come to equity must come with clean hands. We are pretty sure it was that act of National disgrace that informed President Muhammadu Buhari decision to drop him as a minister.”

The group however, commended his successor ,the former Minister of Youth and Sports, Mr Sunday Dare, who later  approved the refund of the $135,000  IAAF Misappropriated Funds.

Meanwhile, the Forum  which said it’s not to late to take legal action against Dalung ,urged the relevant anti graft agencies to immediately arrested and prosecuted him for bringing shame to the country .

Faduri Joseph’s Bold Stand on Nigeria’s Struggles and the Rivers State, State of Emergency

Faduri Joseph’s Bold Stand on Nigeria’s Struggles and the Rivers State, State of Emergency

In a heartfelt video addressing the state of the nation, Faduri Joseph, the Labour Party aspirant who contested the 2023 Nigerian presidential election, delivered a powerful message to the people of Nigeria.

He began with a somber tone, calling it a “sad day for Nigeria”, as the country faces a sharp decline in its economic value and a weakening democracy. Joseph expressed his deep disappointment with the actions of the National Assembly, accusing them of being mere puppets in the hands of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. According to him, Tinubu’s leadership is not only flawed but also dangerously misguided, particularly in his handling of the suspended governor, Sim Fubara of Rivers State. Joseph asserts that it’s not Fubara but Tinubu’s ally, Wike, who is making Rivers State ungovernable in the name of “godfatherism”.

He further raised concerns about the rising violence and insecurity in the country, especially in the Northeast, where killings and kidnappings are rampant. Joseph Faduri pointed out the hypocrisy of the government, noting that while no state of emergency was declared during the #EndSARS protests in Lagos, one was hastily declared due to the president’s personal interests. This, to Faduri Joseph, was a clear indication of how the country’s governance is driven by the powerful elite, rather than the people’s needs.

Faduri Joseph voiced his frustration with President Tinubu, once a vocal champion for democracy, now seemingly betraying the very values he once fought for. He also criticized the Attorney General of the Federation for his inability to effectively defend the president, because he knew it was illegal, further highlighting the dysfunction within the current leadership.

In an impassioned conclusion, Joseph condemned the ongoing injustices, including the illegal demolitions of homes in Abuja and land seizures in Rivers State orchestrated by Wike. Despite the grim reality, Joseph urged Nigerians to remain hopeful and continue speaking out. “Nigeria will change,” he said, “if we keep fighting for democracy.”

DEBUNKING FALSEHOODS: THE REAL FACTS ON KADUNA’S REVENUE UNDER UBA SANI

DEBUNKING FALSEHOODS: THE REAL FACTS ON KADUNA’S REVENUE UNDER UBA SANI

By Moses Magaji Zonkwa

It is unfortunate, but not surprising, that former Kaduna State governor, Nasir Elrufai, a gullible media and elements loyal to him continue to peddle brazen falsehoods to distort the financial reality of Kaduna State. The latest misinformation, falsely claiming that the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) has dropped to N2 billion monthly under Governor Uba Sani, is not just misleading but a desperate attempt to rewrite history and evade accountability for the financial mess left behind.

The Hard Facts: Kaduna’s IGR Has Grown, Not Declined
Let’s set the record straight with recent verifiable figures from the Executive Chairman of the Kaduna State Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS), Mr. Jerry Adams:

2022 : Kaduna generated N59 billion, averaging N4.9 billion per month.
2023 : The state hit a record N62 billion, surpassing the N60 billion mark for the first time.
2024 : IGR rose further to N71 billion—clear proof of sustained growth.
2025 (So far) : January saw N7.4 billion, and February recorded N6.6 billion—completely contradicting the fabricated claim of a “N2 billion” monthly collection.
These figures, which are publicly verifiable, expose the outright falsehood in some online news platforms. Clearly, the misinformation is not based on financial realities but on a decidedly partisan agenda to mislead the public.

So, what exactly is Elrufai being so evasive about?

Massive Debt : Kaduna is struggling with staggering financial obligations accumulated under his watch. But the current administration has given the challenge her best shot, with multi-dimensional welfare policy.
Unpaid Workers : Sacked civil servants and local government employees remain in limbo due to unpaid entitlements. But recently, the Uba Sani government has brought this challenge down, for instance with the payment of N800 million backlog of salaries for Water Board workers.

Uncompleted Contracts: Contractors who handled state projects are still chasing payments for jobs done years ago. But the current Kaduna government has gone far in its renewed effort to tackle the abandoned projects by ensuring completion, even as new ones reach advanced stage.
Financial Recklessness : Lavish loans were taken, yet many promised infrastructural projects remain unfinished. This is one heavy burden that the present administration has been bearing with uncommon courage, determination and innovativeness.
Instead of addressing these pressing issues, the man and his loyalists are fabricating numbers to deceive the public.

A Case of Sour Grapes
It is laughable that those who plunged Kaduna into financial distress are now trying to pose as economic experts. Jerry Adams, a seasoned financial expert with decades of experience in revenue generation, rightly questioned where these false claims originated. The truth is, Kaduna’s IGR is on a steady rise under Governor Uba Sani, and no amount of media manipulation can erase that fact.

The people of Kaduna are not fooled. The days of financial mismanagement disguised as “progress” are over. It’s time to move forward with real accountability and sustainable economic policies.

Group to Elrufai: Ignore Corruption Allegations Against Uba Sani, Account for N423 billion kaduna’s money

Group to Elrufai: Ignore Corruption Allegations Against Uba Sani, Account for N423 billion kaduna’s money

Kaduna Good Governance Forum(KGGMG)has asked citizens of the State and the general public to ignore the recent allegations of corruption raised by former former Kaduna Governor Malam Nasir Elrufai against Governor Uba Sani.

According to the forum, instead of Elrufai jumping from one media house to another seeking for relevance, he should present himself to the relevant anti-graft agencies to account for the 423 Billion Naira looted Kaduna money under his administration.

El-Rufai, had appeared on a radio programme where he accused his successor, Uba Sani, of diverting local government funds to buy properties in Seychelles, South Africa and United Kingdom.

However, the forum in a press statement made available to journalists today asked Elrufai to stop finding faults and evil machinations to pull down the good image and works of Governor Uba Sani.

The statement signed by Comrade Mustapha Ibn Mohammed explained,” Governor Uba Sani How can Uba Sani who enjoined local government chairmen to be transparent and accountable in the handling of public finances during their swearing in ceremony at Sir Kashim Ibrahim Government House will later turnaround.

“As a good governance group, we have frequently followed the allocation from the Federation Account over the past one year and discovered a high level of transparency and accountability.

“We also make bold to ask how did Uba Sani achieved over one thousand per cent (1000%) revenue performance in its Internally Generated Revenue (IGR) with over fifty billion naira (N50bn) achieved if he is corrupt.

“Governor Uba Sani’s administration Under Sani’s leadership has emerged as a national frontrunner in public sector reform, demonstrating an unbeatable commitment to efficiency, transparency, and professionalism.

“It is unfortunate that a former Governor with case of corrupt acts while in office, could be so careless to name a prudent and accountable leader such as Uba Sani corrupt”.

” At this juncture, we dare Elrufai to present evidence of corruption against Uba Sani or we file a case of character assassination against him . “
