Suffering Nigerians Will Decide 2027 Election, Not Defecting Selfish Politicians to a Failed Party

Suffering Nigerians Will Decide 2027 Election, Not Defecting Selfish Politicians to a Failed Party
— Fadojoe

A former presidential aspirant under Labour Party, Faduri Oluwadare Joseph popularly called Fadojoe, has in a recent video released on his official YouTube channel, spoken boldly about the current state of Nigeria that Nigeria cannot continue like this, where politicians continue to decamp from APC to PDP and from PDP to APC.

According to him, “what we have now is not a country, but a jungle where injustice and suffering rule”. Faduri was especially angry about the recent killings in Plateau, Benue, and other parts of the country.

“While innocent Nigerians were being slaughtered, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was on a foreign trip and didn’t even bother to cut it short. A true leader would have returned immediately—just like the President of Ukraine once did when his country was attacked while he was in South Africa.

“Tinubu doesn’t care, and neither do many of the politicians running the country. I call on Nigerians—especially the youth—to stop supporting leaders who are only after their own gain. We need leaders who care about the people, not those jumping from one party to another just to stay in power”.

He criticized those joining APC, saying they think Tinubu is their only hope, even when it’s clear that his party has brought more pain to Nigerians. Stressing that in a saner cline politicians will not be decamping to a party that has so failed Nigerians.

Faduri painted a painful picture of everyday life in Nigeria:

Naira has fallen to N1,500 to $1.

People can’t afford three square meals.

Many are jobless.

Petrol is almost N1,000 per litre.

Healthcare and education are out of reach.

Parents can’t send their kids abroad for studies.

The rich fly out for medical care while the poor die in silence.

Adding that, “suffering will speak loudest in the 2027 election—not the voices of old politicians who have looted the country dry.

“These so-called politicians have stayed in power for years without anything to show in their communities. All they do is buy motorcycles or give out small cash to a few people to keep them quiet, while their neighborhoods remain undeveloped.

“I therefore urge Nigerians to get their voter cards and be ready. It’s time to retire these old politicians who don’t care about us. Let them go into life retirement. We’ve had enough of the same faces, the same lies, and the same pains”.

He challenged every Nigerian to make the 2027 election about the people, not the politicians. Not politics as usual, but suffering people campaign should cut actoss the nation. “We need young, strong and capable leaders who will work for the people—not those spending our money abroad on health issues while Nigerians suffer at home.

“Let’s come together. Let’s rescue and renew Nigeria. The time is now,” he concludes.

2027: SDP Best Option For Deltans

2027: SDP Best Option For Deltans

Press Statement By SDP Delta State Chairman, Barrister Philip Adu-Odogwu On The Recent Defection By Governor sheriff Oborewhori To the APC.

Just a few days ago, the Delta State Governor, sheriff Oborewhori formally announced his defection to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Moving along with him is one of his predecessors Dr.Ifeanyi Okowa who incidentally was the former vice presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic party in the 2023 Presidential election. With this mass defection alongside his commissioners, political appointees and chairmen of the 25 local Government Areas of the state, it is obvious that the PDP house in Delta State has finally collapsed.

The defection of Governor sheriff Oborewhori and his PDP family has only confirmed that the PDP government in the state has all along seen politics as a personal enterprise rather than a wheel of service to the people. The defection is not in any way in the interest of deltans. It is selfish, self serving and geared towards holding on to power.

As a party, we believe that this defection was not driven by the principle of ideological considerations.. The former Governor and the incumbent are looking for a kind of security cover for their misdeeds while in office and they believe that by defecting to the APC, they will be shielded from prosecution. The defection therefore exposes the lack of political ideology within the People’s Democratic party. They do not share a common ideology but rather a platform for patronage and wealth accumulation for their leaders.

Today, despite repeated promises, the PDP and the ruling APC have failed to address Nigeria’s pressing challenges ranging from insecurity, economic hardship and social inequality. Today, nigerians are yearning for a fresh alternative. Nigerians and indeed deltans deserve a government driven by pro- people policies, that is the one which would guarantee their security and provide for their welfare and make the cost of living affordable.

And as the country approaches the 2027 elections, the SDP is here and remains a credible opposition to the APC in Delta State.

You will recall that at the creation of Delta State in 1992, Olorogun Felix Ibru of the Social Democratic party became the first Governor and he laid the solid foundation upon which subsequent Governor’s of Delta State have continued to build.
The SDP is built on justice, fairness and progress and it remains the most democratic and inclusive party in Nigeria.

The SDP remains a solid ground that will rekindle the lost glory of the nation’s democracy. With it’s unwavering commitment to social justice, equality and fairness, the SDP is poised to revitalize the country’s Democratic institutions.

By promoting a culture of inclusivity, transparency and accountability, the SDP will ensure that power is returned to the people and their voices are heard loud and clear.

Today, across the length and breath of the country, the Social Democratic party is witnessing an unprecedented wave of public support as members from the twenty five local Government Areas of the state and beyond are joining our great party in search of a credible platform that will genuinely represent their aspirations.

Perhaps, nigerians need to be reminded that a one party state will worsen the insecurity Crisis escalate the economic hardship with it’s attendant job losses and gradually take Nigeria to the precipice. God forbid! .

The SDP is here not only to reclaim Delta State but also to save her from a one party state outlook.

Rescue Movement Imo State Chapter Inauguration Brings Hope for a New Nigeria

Rescue Movement Imo State Chapter Inauguration Brings Hope for a New Nigeria

The Rescue Movement’s Imo State Chapter inauguration was a grand success, filled with interaction, happiness, and a renewed sense of purpose. The Director General, Ugwu Martins Chiedozie, addressed the audience, outlining the movement’s ideology centered on spreading wealth and egalitarian doctrine. According to him, the movement’s mission is to build a new Nigeria, driven by Nigerians, for Nigerians.

Inagurating the Imo chapter, the DG highlighted the movement’s excellent outing in the last election, where they handed the Labour Party presidential ticket to Peter Obi after relinquishing their candidature for the sake of peace and harmony. He recounted the marathon negotiation at Orchid Hotel, Asaba, which lasted over 8 hours. Despite being the first to buy the Labour Party presidential form and injecting life into the party, the movement withdrew their candidate, Faduri Joseph, to support Obi’s candidacy.

The DG emphasized that the Rescue Movement is poised to shape Nigeria’s party politics come 2027 with innovative concepts and styles never practiced before in the country’s electioneering history. With this vision, the movement is determined to make a lasting impact, working tirelessly to spread its ideology across the country. According Comrade Ugwu, “The Rescue Movement is committed to building a new Nigeria, where wealth is spread equitably, and everyone has access to opportunities. We are coming back stronger, with a vision to reshape Nigeria’s party politics in 2027.”

As the Rescue Movement Imo State Chapter begins its journey, members are vowing to work together to achieve the movement’s objectives, spreading its message down to the grassroots level. With this momentum, the movement is set to make significant strides in the years to come.

Dr. Onugwu Hibiscus Chinweuba, the Imo State Coordinator, expressed gratitude to all members who made the inauguration possible, despite the short notice. The event was indeed a testament to the movement’s dedication to its cause.

UNCONSTITUTIONAL TENURE ELONGATION IN LAGOS LCDAs: A Call for President Tinubu Intervention

UNCONSTITUTIONAL TENURE ELONGATION IN LAGOS LCDAs: A Call for President Tinubu Intervention

“The greatest threat to democracy is not violence or corruption, but the quiet subversion of constitutional limits, whereby those in power normalize the abnormal through incremental violations of established norms.” — Professor Wole Soyinka, Nobel Laureate

The Lagos Society for Good Governance, a non-partisan civic organization committed to upholding democratic principles and constitutional governance, wishes to draw the attention of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwolu to the alarming trend of unconstitutional tenure elongation schemes currently unfolding in several Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) in Lagos State.

Our organization has observed with concern the systematic attempt by certain LCDA chairpersons who initially assumed office as vice-chairpersons following the demise of substantive chairpersons to circumvent constitutional term limits through questionable interpretations of electoral laws.

Emphatically, we present the following specific cases that demand urgent presidential and legal interventions:

Vice Chairman Famuyiwa took over as the substantive Chairman of Agbado Oke-Odo LCDA after Chairman Arologun died in 2019. He subsequently contested and won re-election in 2021, serving what constitutes a second term. Famuyiwa’s current bid for another term in the forthcoming election would amount to nothing but an unconstitutional third term.

Secondly, in Onigbongbo LCDA, Chairman Dayo Oke passed away in 2020, and the Vice Chairman, Dotun Adekanye, was sworn in as substantive Chairman. While Hon. Dotun Adekanye who also seek re-election in 2021 and was sworn in 2021, but unfortunately for him, he also died on November 2024 and his vice chairman was sworn in as substantive chairman and took the oath of office as the current chairman of Onigbongbo LCDA remains eligible to contest once more in the 2025 elections, any future attempts to seek office beyond this would violate constitutional term limits.

It is pertinent to also note the death of Ikosi Isheri LCDA Chairman Abdulfatai Oyesanya in January 2020 during his second term. Vice Chairman Abolanle Bada was sworn in as substantive Chairman. After the completion of his term, she contested and won re-election in July 2021. Her current bid for another term would constitute an unconstitutional third term.

For us at Lagos Society for Good Governance, these actions directly contravene the constitutional amendments signed into law by former President Muhammadu Buhari in 2018. The Fourth Alteration Bill No. 16 (Constitution Amendment) Act explicitly limits individuals who succeed to the office of President or Governor following the death, resignation, or removal of the incumbent to only one additional term after completing their predecessor’s term.

As clarified by Ita Enang, then Senior Special Assistant to President Buhari on National Assembly matters, “Having taken the oath as president for once, you can only contest for once again and no more. That is the intent of this amendment.”

This principle extends to local government administrations through Section 7 of the 1999 Constitution (as amended), which guarantees democratically elected local government councils and mandates state governments to ensure their existence under a law that provides for their establishment, structure, composition, finance, and functions.

The Lagos State Local Government Administration Law must align with these constitutional provisions, as affirmed by numerous Supreme Court judgements establishing the supremacy of the Constitution over all other laws.

Consequently, the Lagos Society for Good Governance recalled that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu was one of the frontline advocate who spoke against tenure elongation during former President Obasanjo regime and from his antecedents, we are cocksure he wouldn’t be a part to such undemocratic acts.

In the same vein, we request President Tinubu to exercise moral leadership by publicly rejecting these unconstitutional tenure elongation schemes. The President should also direct the Attorney General of the Federation, Lateef Fagbemi SAN, to provide clear advisory on the applicability of constitutional term limits to local government administrations.

More so, as a leader of our democracy and a true son of Lagos, we are appealing to the President to engage with the leadership of Lagos State to ensure that the forthcoming local government elections adhere strictly to constitutional norms and best democratic practices. Similarly, the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission should implement new electoral reforms that strengthen local government autonomy and disqualify candidates seeking an unconstitutional third term.

As an advocate of good governance and democratic principles, we draw inspiration from the council elections in northwest region, Ondo, and Akwa-Ibom states which were conducted in strict compliance with electoral laws, resulting in free, fair, and credible outcomes. Lagos State, as Nigeria’s centre of excellence, must not set dangerous precedents that undermine constitutional governance.

The individuals mentioned in the three LCDAs should demonstrate statesmanship by voluntarily withdrawing from the electoral contest in recognition of constitutional term limits. Our democracy cannot afford the normalization of constitutional violations, regardless of how well-intentioned the perpetrators may be.

We remain committed to democratic principles and will utilize all legal and peaceful means to resist any attempts to subvert our constitutional order.

Signed

Friday Sermon: Imam Abubakar Ra’is Speaks on importance of gratitude in our lives, and the importance of Friday prayers

Friday Sermon: Imam Abubakar Ra’is Speaks on importance of gratitude in our lives, and the importance of Friday prayers

BY COMRADE MUSA MOHAMMED

The Friday prayer acts as a weekly reset, allowing believers to pause, reflect, and realign their lives with their faith. By prioritizing Jumu’ah, Muslims cultivate a habit of regular worship, reinforcing their connection to Allah and their commitment to their community.
Also, Friday Prayer, known as Salatul Jumu’ah, holds special place in hearts of Muslims around world. It’s not just a weekly congregational prayer; it’s a time of spiritual rejuvenation, communal bonding, and reflection on faith.

The Chief Imam of Binn Muhammad Masjid, Imam Abubakar Ra’is in his Friday sermon speak about the importance of gratitude in our lives, and the importance of Friday prayers.
Imam Ra’is started by praising the Almighty Allah as follows.

“All praise is due to Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.”
“May peace and blessings of Allah be upon our beloved Prophet Muhammad, his family, and all those who follow his guidance.”

“Brothers and sisters, today I would like to speak about the importance of gratitude in our lives.”
“Allah has bestowed upon us countless blessings, both material and spiritual.”
“We should always remember to express our gratitude to Him for these blessings.”
“Gratitude is not just about saying ‘thank you,’ it’s about recognizing the source of our blessings and living in a way that reflects our appreciation.”

“Friday is among best days. For this reason, Allah particularly guided this Nation to it and sanctioned their gathering to be on this day. Friday prayer is like a jewel gleaming midst fabric— a day that resonates with unique spiritual aura, beckoning believers to gather in congregation and bow before Almighty”!

“O you who have believed, when [adhan] is called for prayer on day of Jumu’ah [Friday], then proceed to remembrance of Allah and leave trade. That is better for you, if you only knew” (Surah Al-Jumu’ah, 62:9)

This verse highlights the importance of prioritizing Friday prayer over worldly pursuits, emphasizing centrality in the life of a believer. It serves as a platform for Muslims to come together, reaffirming faith, and strengthening bonds of brotherhood. In the words of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), he said:

“Whoever performs the prayer like this [i.e., Friday prayer] will have his sins expiated for him between two Fridays, as long as he doesn’t commit any major sin” (Sahih Muslim)

This hadith highlights great blessings associated with attending Friday prayer, as it serves as a means of purification and redemption for believers. Its position as a congregational obligation emphasizes centrality in the life of a believer.

Understanding specific times for performing Friday prayer is paramount for devout Muslims, as it ensures observance following Islamic teachings. Friday prayer is performed in place of regular Dhuhr (noon) prayer. This means that Friday prayer begins shortly after sun reaches zenith, typically around midday. This is opinion of majority of scholars.

However, it is permissible to perform that prayer just before sun passes meridian in case there is need for that, like in extremely hot weather and there is no shadow to take shelter in, or when people want to set out for Jihad before or around meridian time. Evidence of the two practices.

ECN DG Defends Presidency’s ₦10bn Solar Power Project, Calls It Key to Nigeria’s Energy Future

ECN DG Defends Presidency’s ₦10bn Solar Power Project, Calls It Key to Nigeria’s Energy Future

The Director-General of the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN), Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, has described the Presidency’s ₦10 billion solar power project as a critical step toward securing a sustainable energy future for Nigeria. His remarks address ongoing public debate and criticism surrounding the initiative.

During a media briefing at the ECN Headquarters in Abuja on Friday, Dr. Abdullahi defended the project as a “strategic investment in sustainability, self-reliance, and universal energy access.” The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s commitment to transforming Nigeria’s power sector, including providing stable electricity and prepaid meters nationwide.

Dr. Abdullahi highlighted Nigeria’s energy debt crisis, noting that federal institutions, including the Presidential Villa, owed the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (AEDC) ₦47.1 billion in unpaid bills before President Tinubu took office. “Transitioning to solar energy is not just about cost-cutting; it’s about creating a model for efficiency and shielding Nigerians from rising tariffs,” he said. He cited global successes, such as Kenya’s solar-powered rural grids, Bangladesh’s solar home systems, the United States’ White House, and Germany’s renewable-driven industrial sector.

The project is expected to deliver significant economic and social benefits, including job creation in solar manufacturing, installation, and maintenance, while fostering innovation among Nigerian engineers and entrepreneurs. It will also reduce pressure on the national grid. Dr. Abdullahi emphasized its role in decentralizing energy access: “This is not just about powering Aso Rock; it’s about planting seeds for renewable systems to electrify rural communities, empower the underserved, and ensure energy equity.” The initiative is part of broader reforms across Nigeria’s power value chain, from generation to distribution.

Defending the ₦10 billion investment, Dr. Abdullahi urged Nigerians to focus on its long-term benefits. “History will remember this project as the spark that ignited Nigeria’s energy revolution—a future where clean, affordable power is accessible to all,” he said. The solar initiative supports President Tinubu’s agenda to eliminate energy debt, reduce governance costs, and position Nigeria as a renewable energy leader. “This is the pathway to uninterrupted, sustainable electricity, and the cost is minimal compared to its transformative legacy,” Dr. Abdullahi concluded.

Protest Against Fmr. NNPCL’s Boss,Mele Kyari is sponsored- Shehu Sani

Protest Against Fmr. NNPCL’s Boss,Mele Kyari is sponsored- Shehu Sani

Former senator representing Kaduna Central Senatorial District,Comrade Shehu Sani today wrote off the protest held by some groups in Abuja against former Group Chief Executive Director of Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) ,as nothing, but sponsored project by some displeased or disgruntled oil interests .

According to him, most of the young guys he saw on the protest train , don’t actually know what they were protesting about, they just joined.

A group of protesters had on Tuesday stormed the office of the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Lateef Fagbemi to demand the prosecution of former Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited Group Chief Executive Officer, Mele Kyari.

The group Led by its convener, Kabir Matazu, had expressed disappointment that, despite President Bola Tinubu’s removal of Kyari and the entire NNPCL board on April 2, 2025, no steps have been taken to investigate the alleged corrupt practices during Kyari’s tenure.

But Shehu Sani in a reaction to the protest via his social media handles said: “I came across some protesters at the Federal Secretariat Abuja, raising placards against the ex NNPCL CEO Kyari. Most of the young guys there, don’t actually know what they were protesting about. They just joined.

“It’s clearly a sponsored project by some displeased or disgruntled oil interests against Kyari.”

The lamaker strongly believes that Kyari is clearly one of the GMD’s that has distinguished himself not only as a dynamic business administrator, innovative manager, technocrat , transparent and accountability advocate but shown great dexterity in his leadership style.

He however, warned against people being used to destroy reputation of good leaders who put their all while holding public office.

SACKED DICON DG: OPEN LETTER TO HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE OF THE FEDERATION

SACKED DICON DG: OPEN LETTER TO HEAD OF CIVIL SERVICE OF THE FEDERATION

JUBILATION ERUPTS IN DEFENCE INDUSTRIES CORPORATION OF NIGERIA (DICON) OVER THE SACK OF MAJOR GENERAL EDET ANIEDI AS DG DICON

The recent announcement of the sack of the Director General of DICON has sparked widespread jubilation among staff, and rightfully so. For years, workers have endured a reign marked by arrogance, abuse of power, and blatant disregard for the rules and ethos of public service.

Under the former DG’s leadership, the agency became a theatre of oppression, where the basic rights of staff were trampled upon. His administration was notorious for flouting public service rules with impunity, wielding power as a tool of intimidation rather than service. Staff lived in constant fear, subjected to harsh and unjust disciplinary actions, including the shocking incident of detaining employees in a police cell for a week over trivial internal matters—a gross misuse of power and a stain on the dignity of civil service.

The DG’s high-handedness alienated employees and bred a toxic work environment. His leadership was also riddled with nepotism, tribalism, and favoritism, where promotions and privileges were awarded not on merit, but on the basis of tribe, personal connections, or loyalty to his authority. This unjust system crushed morale and stifled productivity.

The sack of this DG is not only a relief but a long-overdue correction that restores hope in the principles of justice, equity, and accountability in public administration. It sends a strong message that no one is above the law, and that the civil service must be led by individuals who embody humility, fairness, and respect for institutional rules.

We commend the authorities for this bold and necessary action and call for a thorough review of the injustices suffered under his tenure. Let this be the beginning of a new chapter where every civil servant can work in dignity and peace in Dicon

BREAKING: Why Uba Sani Broke Good Governance Record in the North—-Group

BREAKING: Why Uba Sani Broke Good Governance Record in the North—-Group

A group under the auspices of Uba Sani Legacy Projects Solidarity Assembly (USLEPSA) has noted that under the administration of governor Uba Sani, Kaduna State has now become a benchmark for transparency and purposeful leadership in delivering dividends of democracy to the people.

The group commended Governor Sani for delivering what it described as “no-excuses governance,” transforming the State within a short span of 21 months despite a backdrop of national economic turmoil and insecurity.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday at Arewa House in Kaduna, the group’s spokesperson, Hadiza Mohammed, said Governor Sani had demonstrated bold leadership rooted in fiscal discipline, transparency, and measurable results.

According to her, Kaduna State is no longer a story of abandoned dreams but a living proof that good governance is possible, even in tough times.

“Governor Uba Sani didn’t come to make excuses. He came to make a difference. Kaduna has become a benchmark for transparency and purposeful leadership, and the results speak for themselves.

“Among the administration’s landmark achievements is the injection of N100 billion into the state’s water sector, with N35 billion committed in 2025 alone and a target of 100% water access set for December this year. The state also cleared a N1.3 billion electricity debt that had long crippled water treatment plants, while an N800 million salary backlog for Water Corporation staff was also paid.

“Infrastructure development is also on the rise, with 78 new road projects covering 775 kilometers initiated across all 23 local government areas, and 21 key roads already completed and operational. The long-abandoned Kaduna Bridge linking Kabala Costain to Aliyu Makama Road has been revived to decongest the ever-busy Ahmadu Bello Way.

“In education, 62 new secondary schools have been built, alongside the construction of 2,326 new classrooms and the recruitment of 2,000 teachers. Over 30,000 pupil desks and 3,700 teacher chairs have been distributed, while tuition across tertiary institutions was slashed by 50% to ease student burdens. In health, 12 General Hospitals are undergoing major reconstruction, while Primary Health Centres across the state have received equipment upgrades, bringing them to Level 2 standards.

“On the agricultural front, 41,693 farmers have benefitted from input support, including 240,000 bags of fertilizer distributed via 500 trucks, and the deployment of modern farm equipment. Agriculture now contributes 42% of Kaduna’s GDP and received 9.5% of the 2025 state budget.

“The administration has also addressed pension and worker welfare by clearing N6.9 billion in outstanding arrears and launching a N500 million revolving loan scheme for civil servants at a 5% interest rate. Between 2023 and 2024, Kaduna attracted $503 million in foreign investments, signing deals with global players like Huawei and Qatar Charity. Diplomatic discussions with the USA, Italy, and Cuba are also underway, with interest in investing across agriculture, health, and industrial sectors.

“Social empowerment has been tackled through the Hausa programme, “A Kori Talauci”, which has supported nearly 5,000 underserved women with grants ranging from N50,000 to N300,000. Vocational cities are under construction, while the Panteka innovation centre is taking shape. Victims of insecurity and natural disasters are also receiving targeted assistance. The signing of an Executive Order on Financial Inclusion has opened over two million new bank accounts for rural dwellers, helping bridge the financial access gap.

“Internally Generated Revenue has improved due to digital reforms and stringent expenditure tracking, with a strategic audit of Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs) closing leakages and enhancing efficiency”. Hadiza Mohammed stated.

The group also revealed that the Kaduna Internal Revenue Service (KADIRS) has generated an “unprecedented Revenue, amounting to 19,267,950,288.62”
