The wife of Gabon’s deposed president, Ali Bongo Ondimba, has been jailed for money laundering, forgery, and falsification of records. Her lawyers who made the announcement today, said it was an “arbitrary… and illegal procedure”. The French-Gabonese has been under house arrest over suspected embezzlement of public funds since a late August coup.
