Address The Marginalization In Your Cabinets Rev. Azzaman Tasks President, Gov. Uba Sani

Mike Odeh James

Popular Christian cleric Rev. David Ayuba Azzaman has spoken out for the first time on President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s ministerial appointments as well as Governor Uba Sani’s political appointments.

Rev.Azzaman said President Tinubu’s appointments are full of kudos as well as knocks. Citing Benue as an example, the cleric added that some of the appointments were lopsided.

” As in the case of Benue, the Secretary to the Federal Government is a Tiv man, the minister from Benue State is also a Tiv man.
There are other tribes such as the Idomas and the Igedes; at least the President should have picked an Idoma or Igede for ministerial appointment for the sale of equity.

The Rev. also urged Tinubu to consider appointing a Christian from Kaduna State as a minister, adding that Christians in Kaduna were being shortchanged.

“In a state of about 10 million, Christians are about 5 million, yet the Governor, the Deputy, and over ninety percent of the Commissioners are Muslims; it would amount to deliberate marginalization if you don’t appoint a Christian.

The President should understand that he is now the President of all Nigerians and not the President of Muslims or the All Progressive Congress.

Azzaman also urged Governor Uba Sani to be fair to Christians as he goes about constituting his cabinet.

Speaking on other appointments made by Tinubu, the fiery critic commended Tinubu for appointing Nyesom Wike as Minister for the Federal Capital Territory, adding that it is a right peg in a round hole.
He observed that most of the president’s appointments are technocrats who fit into the president’s agenda.

Rev.Azzaman also praised Tinubu for not appointing former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasiru El Rufai, into his cabinet, adding that Tinubu should go a step further and arrest the former Governor for being complicit in the killings that had engulfed the state during his tenure.

Arewa Group Declares Total Support for Fmr. Gov. Badaru to head Defense Ministry

A Socio-political group, Arewa New Agenda(ANA), has reiterated its dedication to support the newly appointed Minister of Defence, Mohammed Badaru Abubakar.

The chairman of the group, Sen. Ahmad Abubakar MoAllahyidi, conveyed this in a press briefing with journalists in Abuja, on Thursday.

ANA envisions a Nigeria where the north thrives, possesses vibrancy, and assumes responsibility for its destiny.

As ministers embark on their governance challenges, ANA expressed dismay at the unjust criticisms some have faced, cloaked in religious and ethnic disguises, even before they’ve settled into their roles.

MoAllahyidi said: “H.E. Mohammed Abubakar Badaru, the newly appointed Minister of Defense, was singled out for such unjustified attacks”.

“Badaru’s eight-year tenure as Jigawa State’s Governor was an exemplary record of ensuring safety, peace, and coexistence despite the state’s geographical vulnerabilities”.

“Despite being a state neighboring insecure countries and states, jigawa is on of the few states in the north that has never had the insuring issue”

“The association found it fitting for him to lead the Ministry of Defense, given his history of safeguarding territorial integrity”.

“Badaru’s successful track record in both public and private spheres underscores his competence for this role”.

ANA emphasized the cultural and traditional imperative of supporting and respecting leadership, dismissing any calls for Badaru’s dismissal as premature and unfounded.

Meanwhile, MoAllahyidi said: “ANA is resolute in its pledge to foster social harmony and peaceful coexistence as Nigeria continues its journey toward national improvement”

“Undoubtedly, Nigeria is grappling with some of its most trying times in the path to nationhood. The demand for forward-thinking ministers capable of harnessing both human and material resources to enhance the lives of citizens has never been more critical”.

“While this is a nationwide need, the north, for undeniable reasons, requires these ministers even more”.

“ANA places great significance on how the forthcoming presidency of Tinubu addresses the twin challenges of insecurity and economic instability”.

“However, it’s vital to acknowledge that these concerns aren’t the only ones afflicting the nation”.

ANA congratulated the 45 recently sworn-in ministers and urged them to strive for distinctiveness. This appointment presents a fresh opportunity to drive socio-economic progress, and the association condemned any lavish displays of office privileges amid the country’s economic struggles.

However, ANA called to ministers from the northern region to work diligently for the betterment of both the north and Nigeria as a whole.

The association emphasized the need to prioritize the collective vision over personal interests, echoing the overarching goals set forth by the President.

ANA stressed the importance of ministers engaging with the people to comprehend their aspirations and incorporate these into President Tinubu’s government agenda.

Uba Sani: Changing The Face of Education In Kaduna State – Comrade Musa Mohammed

Uba Sani: Changing The Face of Education In Kaduna State – Comrade Musa Mohammed

‘Uba Sani will succeeded in changing the face of education in kaduna with so many success’.

BY COMRADE MUSA MOHAMMED

In a federation like Nigeria, development and growth of the country does not only depends on the leadership of the president who is at the center. State governors are also key in ensuring growth and development. In my view, leadership at the state level is even more important than that of the central government because Nigeria is a heterogeneous nation with different tribes and culture.

Over the years, all the states in Nigeria have been ruled by different people. Since Nigeria got her independence in 1960 and started practicing federalism, the achievements and accomplishments of some of our governors has been documented in different journals, books and even magazines.

Governor Senator Uba Sani, Executive Governor of Kaduna State is an example of an accountable and responsible governor.

Uba Sani is the only governor amongst the newly governors that has did something totally different to the development of education in Kaduna state.

Governor Uba Sani may not be the best governor kaduna State has ever had, but I must confess that he is one of the most performing amongst all the state governors in Nigeria currently despite with the challenges across the state.

He is not like other governors that talks too much and not put their words into execution.

There are other wonderful things not mentioned here. He may not be perfect but he will be one of the best the kaduna State has had.

If you want to mention governors in Nigeria that talk and do exactly what they say, Governor Uba Sani is one of them. He is one of leaders that actually had a plan for his people before taking up the power to lead.

I strongly believe he is going to do more great things in Kaduna State with the kind of spirit he has.

The governor will definitely did well in the education sector, he would lay a solid foundation for the development of education in the state.

Uba Sani knows and appreciates the value of education in the socio-economic development of the society. He therefore not only identified education sector as a top priority of his administration as second to security, but also made education the centre-piece of his administration’s policies and programmes; hence his decision to invest massively in the sector in order to make kaduna work again and expand the horizon of good governance and accountable leadership in the state anchored on agenda.

With this commitment Gov. Uba Sani swung into action to fulfil his promises to the people.

His foresight over the downward review of all the State- owned tertiary institutions’ fees’, and his determination to provide access to free and qualitative education for every child in Kaduna State from primary to secondary school, is a laudable achievement.

The executive Governor has take a bold-step Governor by approving of the downward review of school fees for all state- owned tertiary institutions by 30 and 50 percent.

His action was a positive responds to the public outcry over hike in fees being charged by the state tertiary institutions and its effect on school enrolment and retention.

The reduction in tuition fees in all the state- owned tertiary institutions by Governor Uba Sani, including Kaduna Sate University, Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic, College of Education Gidan Waya,Shehu Idris College of Health Sciences and Technology, Makarfi respectively, is highly appreciated and commendable.

His initiatives and policy on education are not only people oriented but friendly and good gesture worthy of emulation by all and sundry across party line.

Despite with the limited resources, intimidating debt profile and battered economy that depended solely on federal allocations and poor internally-generated revenue, Uba Sani will succeeded in changing the face of education in kaduna with so many success.

What we have seen so far in Kaduna state is of high quality and satisfactory. There is evidence of focus and commitment, and a clear interest in promoting education and empowering our children to survive in an increasingly complex technology driven global system.

The man is keeping to his campaign promises.

He Will definitely make Kaduna great.

Breaking: Group Hails Tinubu for Making Badaru Defence Minister

Breaking: Group Hails Tinubu for Making Badaru Defence Minister

A group under the auspices of Northwest Progressives Forum(NPF) has lent its weight behind the choice of former Jigawa State Governor, Mohammed Badaru as Nigeria’s Minister of Defence, saying President Bola Tinubu made an informed choice.

Addressing a Press Conference in Kaduna on Wednesday, the group’s Director of Strategic Communications, Adamu Isa said notwithstanding the mixed reactions that followed Badaru’s choice as Defence Minister, President Tinubu deserves commendation, given the new Minister’s trajectory.

“As Governor of Jigawa State, he received Security Report every morning as the first item on his official menu. This was moreso because the Chief Security Officer of Jigawa State. He cannot therefore be said to be a novice in modern governance and related issues of safety and security of citizens. Jigawa State today, is one of the most peaceful States in Nigeria”, the group argued.

Turning to the narrative that the new Minister may find the job hard without being a train as a soldier, the group declared: ” Those who are suddenly peddling the narrative that the Minister has no military training are merely out to distract attention because a Nigerian Minister’s role is coordination of the activities of core professionals under his supervision.

“We recall that another former governor from the Northwest, Engr(Dr) Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso held the same portfolio  of Defence Minister and performed effectively and efficiently. This was moreso because being a Minister is no rocket science”, Adamu argued.

The group expressed excitement over what it describes as news reports that “the new Minister of Defence has immediately swing into action as he is already assembling a team of experts to assist him in the discharge of this important assignment.”

Adamu explained that the effort by Badaru to assemble a team of experts was a proof that the man knows his focus and ” the correct team composition for effective and efficient delivery of his duties”.

The NPF also said ” His Excellency Badaru is not new to the critical details of National Defence Policy, the guiding norm of the entire Defence Ministry”.

They gave a list of the essential elements of the country’s National Defence Policy as follows:-

•Maintaining men of the Nigerian Armed Forces in a state of combat readiness on land, sea and air.

•Maintaining a proper balance in arms and men to meet the needs of internal and external security;

•Making provision for the welfare of the men of the Armed Forces in terms of training, accommodation, health care and other benefits aimed at boosting their morale.

•Enhancing the capability and sophistication of the country’s Defence Industries in order to reduce the country’s dependence on foreign sources of supply.

•Ensuring security in the African continent by the promotion of a collective defence system through bilateral, sub-regional and continental co-operation to ward off external aggression and to attain the African objective of the national foreign policy

•Contributing towards peace and stability in the world as a whole through the United Nations, African Union (AU) and Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The group s commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for “considering a competent, patriotic person with proven track record of delivering on his assignments for decades.”

Adamu then declared: “Having done our independent checks and consultation with experts in modern military art and warfare, we are convinced that the appointment of His Excellency Mohammed Badaru as Minister of Defence is a game-changer, in the spirit of Renewed Hope.”

They also pledged to continue praying for the new Minister to succeed in the new national assignment.
